Reform-led Durham council cut off funding to the annual Pride celebrations. So trade unions launched a fundraiser to save it, eventually raising more money than was cut. Which means this year's Pride will be bigger than ever. In the 1980s, the LGBT+ community raised thousands of pounds to help striking miners and their families. When we stick up for each other, we can achieve anything.

Claire dismisses and minimises homophobia and fails to condemn interphobia and transphobia when presented with it -she actually encourages them in her supporters

A final comment on this. I'm very vocal in my specific criticism of parkrun as an entity. However, I have nothing but respect and support for the work of the local volunteer teams that make the events happen every week. It is sad that one of the teams were dragged into this. 😥

Can't she engage with the actual issue—inclusion at a non-competitive health event? Parkrun will always prioritize inclusion over competition. Graham has been a wonderful defender of this and the good Parkrun does.
