@IrishRainforest Pick litter most weekends when out on a spin in the mountains. Always surprises me where I find cans like monster and redbull.

Of course there are lots of far bigger issues than litter, but I just can't understand how some think it's ok to drive around firing rubbish out the window everywhere. And the quantities are enormous. Is it the same mindset that sees no problem in spewing CO2 or other pollution?

After 8 months away from the race track ,it was nice to ride steady & get 2nd in Race ru and Qualy . My Dad has always mentioned importance of B rated races 2 tidy up the race craft .Other races lined up before @UCI_MTB @MercedesBenz @oakley @FrankHoganMB World Cups in June

@Point1_Athletic Been to a couple alright. Different breed same as downhill. 3 years they reckon it takes before some conner s can be taken anywhere near flat out.

@trashfreemtb Yes. I've spoken to some racer who've done Isle of Man TT too. Even with on board footage it's taking a good few back to back years to really get to grips with the layout and demands. Mad idea 🤣. I used to go to all the road races back home as a kid

Coming back to this one, a week later. The athlete and I have come to a shared and pretty straightforward system and methods to try. Some elements "evidence supported", others experience and context informed. Short 🧵 below ⬇️

@Point1_Athletic Have you ever spoken to any motor bike road racers. I know one who is racing the TT this year. He have never been on the track but has watched a 100 times or more on YT. He's gone on a reci this weekend and probably won't see it till practice week in a few months time.

But one stand-out point was that while on the first day of learning the track things felt "similar" to before, the rider said that first run of day 2 on the track felt like he knew it like the back of their hand.

@Point1_Athletic I am member and take part in the martial art of Krav Maga. Any time we learn a new technique I always find that the week after even without getting to practice the technique it has embedded enough to preform it. The skill to learn new things is there but some people learn faster.

So there seemed to be some real consolidation of learning after a good nights sleep *(and a few laps of viewing the track on GoPro footage again)

@whittledaway @OlaLN @RewildingIre Don't quote me on this but I do remember seeing a program that was something to do with wildlife and roads and there was a study done that showed animals prefer crossing on a over pass rather than a tunnel.

@OlaLN @RewildingIre There is one! On the M18, there are also more underpasses for badgers etc but connectivity needs to be much improved

There's almost a 1000km of motorways in Ireland, but not a single wildlife crossing (picture below). The few wildlife habitats left in Ireland are effectively imprisoned and cut off from one another by the ever expanding road network in Ireland. @RewildingIre @whittledaway
