Robotaxi rides without any safety monitors are now publicly available in Austin. Starting with a few unsupervised vehicles mixed in with the broader robotaxi fleet with safety monitors, and the ratio will increase over time.

@wintonARK Agree. Sustainability has traditionally been associated with sacrifice and trade offs. We are breaking that association. Abundance will have to be sustainable. It’s in Tesla’s DNA and continues to be core to everything we do!

If we don't make it amazing, it won't sustain Why develop the next gen roadster? Because people will be inspired by a street-legal car that can corner better than an F1 vehicle and literally fly over speed humps. Amazing! The word sustainability, at least by association and to an increasing degree, implies a zero sum game. The technological moment that we're encountering requires positive sum planning. Energy resources and real estate are anticipated chokepoints for AI compute scaling: Ad Astra! Chip suppliers aren't willing to proactively scale to accommodate the volume of helpful humanoids that humanity will want: We're Going to Need a Bigger Fab. The future we want is abundance un-metered, expanding, amaze-inducing. If our creations are not marvelous, if humanity does not stop, gape and wonder, then the entire expansion experiment will probably get choked off by the scolds and bent towards the will of the few. True abundance requires amazement--the continual glimmer on the solar system's horizon that pulls humanity further outward, expanding and expanding and expanding.
