I posted that I’m going to the Unite the Kingdom parade tomorrow, and yes, plenty of people have said “have a good day” and “enjoy it”, which I appreciate. But what really stood out was how many people also felt the need to say, “stay safe”, “protect your stuff”, “don’t go alone”, “make sure you stay with people”. And that says something. What kind of country are we living in where going to the capital city to stand with people waving the national flag also comes with warnings about your safety? That isn’t normal. People should be able to show pride in their country, carry their own flag, and attend a public event without others feeling like they need to warn them to be careful. I appreciate everyone looking out for me, genuinely. 🌺🇬🇧 Tributes have been paid to RAF veteran John Timms, who has died aged 90. John served in Cyprus and Egypt during the 1950s and was awarded a medal for his service during the Suez Crisis. Beyond his military service, he was known locally as a talented musician, keen cyclist and active member of his local community. From performing with his jazz band at Foxton Locks Inn to attending remembrance events and continuing to cycle well into later life, John clearly touched many lives through his energy, friendship and commitment to others. He was laid to rest in his RAF blazer, shirt, tie and boots — a reflection of the pride he carried in his service throughout his life. Last night, MPs had a unique opportunity to force a forensic investigation on Starmer for his Mandelson sleaze. To expose him. I voted to drag him through it. 223 MPs did. That included Labour MPs who put their careers at risk to do the right thing. Farage failed to vote with us - he didn't bother to show up. We had a chance to finally drag the truth into the light, put him under brutal scrutiny, and let the British people see exactly how this corrupt system protects its own. Why get yourself elected to Parliament if, when a real moment of genuine consequence arrives, you are nowhere to be seen? Parliament isn't loads of fun, to be honest. Woman Raped Outside Luxury Flats In Streatham, Police Release Images of Suspect. Police have launched an urgent appeal after a woman was brutally raped in the early hours outside a prestigious new development in Streatham Hill. The horrifying attack took place at around 5.30am on Tuesday, May 12, outside Gaumont Place, part of the London Square Streatham Hill development, just steps away from the busy high street, a high concentration of HMOs, and Streatham Hill station. The assault was captured on CCTV, but was not reported at the time. Police were only alerted the following day after reviewing the footage and have now confirmed it as a serious sexual offence. Despite this clear video evidence, the victim has still not come forward. Detectives are growing increasingly concerned she may be too traumatised to contact them, or that something even worse may have happened to her afterwards. Metropolitan Police officers, led by Detective Constable Charlie Codrington, have released clear CCTV images of the suspect they are desperately trying to trace. The man is described as a black male of medium build in his early 30s, wearing a dark cap, dark hooded jacket and carrying a backpack. DC Codrington: "This was a horrifying incident which took place in broad daylight, close to a busy high street. We know the woman in this footage will be scared, but we urge her to contact the police. We are concerned for her wellbeing and officers are here to provide her with welfare, medical and trained support." The Met is appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or who was in the Gaumont Place area around the time of the attack, to come forward immediately.
