Yes, Florida nailed basically every recruiting eval in two classes and turned 3-stars into real stars and retained them all multiple years.
Your point is what? Four of Pope’s HS recruits have already transferred and only Malachi Moreno has been a real contributor.

That was maybe the biggest issue for me at Kentucky.
Should have had a GM plan with two people working together solely on portal plan since November.
One does initial evals and other works on relationships with all the agents.

Here's the irony in how the Barnhart deal played out.
Had he not been so stubborn in resisting the impulses of the fan base ('microwave culture' etc), he might have had the clout to ride off with that deal escaping the scrutiny it got.

Then when he gets them, let’s call it a panic move even though he had been targeting this particular kid from the moment the portal opened

Here’s the issue: Almost feels like a panic move to get both Alex Wilkins AND Zoom Diallo. I can promise you, Diallo isn’t going there to play off the ball. He’s not very effective without the ball in general. But if Wilkins isn’t handling the ball, it greatly limits what he’s good at. To me, some of the early portal whiffs led to Kentucky just going in on talent and not worrying about fit, which is a pretty shaky formula.

Zoom Diallo was one of the first transfers Kentucky targeted, and they quickly prioritized him for the PG1 spot.
UK wanted a commit by the end of his visit on Saturday, but when that didn’t happen, they pursued Rob Wright and followed that through.
After Wright’s return to BYU, they quickly locked Diallo down.
