Wonderful dinner tonight at the Swedish Embassy honoring the son of Warren Buffett, Howard, for his work on recovering missing Ukrainian children taken by Russians. Great that the Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. was there as well (pictured).

We are deeply grateful to George Kent, an American diplomat who served his country for more than 30 years — including as Ambassador to Estonia, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, and Deputy Chief of Mission in Kyiv — for supporting the Sound of Life campaign. George recently arrived in Kyiv on a volunteer mission, delivering pickup trucks for Ukraine’s defenders. During his visit, he witnessed fragments of a Russian drone falling near the Independence Monument on Maidan, in central Kyiv. The attack took place in the morning — at the very time when Ukrainian children are on their way to school and kindergarten. After the missiles, the greatest danger is the silence of the world. The @soundoflife_ua campaign exists to ensure that this silence does not prevail. It brings together people, institutions, and public voices — including ambassadors, leaders, and influencers — who choose to stand for life and protect those who are still growing, learning, and simply trying to live. At its core is a simple truth: air defense is civilian protection. Air defense is child protection. In Ukraine, a small whistle placed around a child’s neck at night can become the only way to be found under rubble after a strike — transforming an ordinary object into a signal of survival. We encourage you to speak about this reality, share these stories, and support initiatives that protect children. On Feb 25 at @CFR_org, Ambassador @StefanishynaO made clear that ending the war is not about a deadline — it is about ending it in a way that allows Ukrainians to continue living, building, and raising their children safely.

I stand unequivocally with President Trump and his decision to strike Iran. For years the Iranian regime terrorized the region through its proxies, threatening our forces and allies and fueling violence across the Middle East. Its actions undermined stability and directly endangered American interests. The United States pursued multiple diplomatic pathways and chose to respond with force only when Iran refused to give up its nuclear ambition. A regime that chants “Death to America” cannot be entrusted with the capacity to carry out that threat. No other power stepped in militarily to defend Tehran. Russia issued criticism, but has not confronted the U.S., and China has kept its support limited to diplomatic statements while avoiding direct intervention. This moment reminds the world once again that there is one superpower, capable of defending freedom and deterring aggression. God bless our troops, and God bless America.

There is strong bipartisan support for Ukraine — in Congress and among the American people.

Last night, Russia launched 420 drones & 39 missiles, incl 11 ballistic ones, against Ukraine, targeting homes and energy facilities. Dozens of civilians, children were injured. Most missiles were intercepted thanks to timely air defense support from our partners — but there were also hits. Ukraine needs sustained defense assistance. #SanctionsRussia
