@katrosenfield Focusing on something for personal/career reasons is the exact opposite of a principled stand. A principled stand would be focusing on the most important issues of this moment. The current govt's abuses of power fits that standard better than a random article from 2020.

There's a common fallacy in the armchair WW2 commentariat that conflates "incurred the most casualties" with "did the most to win the war." The past 2 centuries establish that the Russian army is a high-casualty meatgrinder. That doesn't mean it does the most to win every war.

The odd thing about Darializa Chevalier running for Congress is that she appears to genuinely despise America. Sure, people run for office to change things they don't like. But why would you want to lead a system of government you think is fundamentally worthy of contempt?
