Let's play out this scenario⬇️⬇️:
Team A beat Team B.
Team A and Team B had 4 common opponents, and Team A outplayed Team B against 3 out of 4.✅
Team A went 4-0 against ranked opponents.✅
Team B went 2-2 against ranked opponents.❌
Their SOS is nearly identical🟰🟰
Who deserves to get in?
They both finished 10-2 on the season.✅✅
If your answer is Team B because Team A lost to “unranked” opponents that were top-35, bowl-eligible-caliber teams, then that is a generational moving of the goalposts.
You are setting a new criterion that is not even part of the criteria used by the CFP, and wasn’t applied to anyone last year, and wasn’t applied this year either (Bama lost to unranked and bowl-ineligible FSU).
Team A is Miami
Team B is Notre Dame
Where is the incentive to play big time out of conference games if winning the head to head games hurt you outright? Is the @CFBPlayoff ready to set that precedent?

"Not only does Miami have head to head. Ok, let's go to common opponents... Miami wins that, too!"
@colincowherd and @jasonrmcintyre debate if Miami deserves to be ranked ahead of Notre Dame by the CFP committee

@JackRFulton @CFBKings Those same exact rating systems had ND beating Miami on August 31st, and they were wrong. Football isn't played in a basement between laptops my man, it's played on a field between white lines, and for what it's worth Miami beat ND IN AN ACTUAL REAL GAME ON A FIELD.
English

@CFBKings Did someone notify every single neutral rating system/model about this bias? Is that why every objective ranking system has ND over Miami? Is it because of the “bias”? The data is all just corrupted by the bias against Miami? Is the math in the room with you right now?

Last season, there were 7 head-to-head results among Top 25 teams who finished with the same record.
✅ (10-2) #5 Georgia ranked ahead of (10-2) #7 Tennessee
✅ (9-3) #11 Alabama ranked ahead of (9-3) #14 South Carolina
✅ (9-3) #11 Alabama ranked ahead of (9-3) #19 Missouri
✅ (9-3) #13 Ole Miss ranked ahead of (9-3) #14 South Carolina
✅ (9-3) #14 South Carolina ranked ahead of (9-3) #17 Clemson
✅ (9-3) #14 South Carolina ranked ahead of (9-3) #19 Missouri
✅ (10-2) #15 Arizona State ranked ahead of (10-2) #18 BYU
This season, as of right now, there are 6 head-to-head results between Top 25 teams with a same record.
✅ (10-1) #4 Georgia ranked ahead of (10-1) #7 Ole Miss
✅ (10-1) #5 Texas Tech ranked ahead of (10-1) #11 BYU
✅ (9-2) #8 Oklahoma ranked ahead of (9-2) #10 Alabama
✅ (9-2) #8 Oklahoma ranked ahead of (9-2) #15 Michigan
✅ (9-2) #10 Alabama ranked ahead of (9-2) #14 Vanderbilt
❌ (9-2) #12 Miami ranked 3 spots behind (9-2) #9 Notre Dame
If Miami beats Pitt and doesn’t jump Notre Dame, there’s simply an agenda to deliberately keep the Canes out.
