@PaulSkallas @daveweigel I'm fairly certain you can get shitty coffee in the US too. Personally, the best coffee I've had is in Portugal (importing a lot of coffee beans from Brazil obviously), with or without milk/sugar. Locals often drink *bica* with a liqueur. It's cheaper than your one coffee.

It's not that coffee sucks in Italy. It's fine. It's just normal. Simple fuel. It's that Coffee went through a huge craft revolution in America which ended up exceeding quality in most other countries. They found out Americans would pay 6 dollars for a cup of coffee as long it was good.

There are some beautiful and very old mosques here in south Portugal and nobody has a problem with that because it's part of their history. Trading with vikings/nordics is also an essential part of history that continues to this day.
