today it can be one shotted by roughly anyone with the correct physics, graphics,
gameplay, etc.
so $10m of economic value wiped out in ~15 years? that’s only one game. almost all software is going to be power law outcomes from this point forward. the temporary rise you see now is kind of a red herring for what’s to come.

Could you explain? I do agree that there are numerous methodology problems with ARC (especially 3) but "matched human performance day 1" is at best misrepresentative, no? I'm seeing individual human averages of 34-50% (depending on methodology), and top human performance of ~99%, while only hearing about ~30% on the AI front from today.

I personally would like people who are really into making videos to be able to succeed by making videos. I don't want to tell them "If you can't also do marketing you should just die." Or "If you can't afford to hire an illustrator you should just die." Or any similar thing.
I'm not saying AI solves this problem, but I am saying I wouldn't be willing to make that argument to justify my opinions on AI.

Then either give your video a default thumbnail, work with a friend, or god forbid, hire someone to do that labor. If you want to make videos, but don’t want to put in the effort to make them presentable, don’t go complaining when they don’t reach the amount of people you were hoping to reach.

This is genuinely a good reason to stop using AI. Even if you don’t care about either the environmental impact or their training on stolen data (which you should, but I digress), think of it like this:
If I see your video and my first impression is an AI thumbnail, my first reaction is gonna be:
“If you didn’t want to put in the effort to make a good thumbnail, why should I believe you put in the effort to make a good video?”
People don’t want to watch a creator who cuts corners like that.

You shouldn't need any of this to tell it was distilled. Talk to it for 5 minutes. It'll tell you it's Claude. It won't believe you when you say "actually you're Kimi K3." If you finally convince it that it's deployed as Kimi K3 it will say "Nevertheless, I am Claude." If you eventually get it to admit it's Kimi, 5 minutes later it will drop "I have to be honest -- I hallucinated the Kimi thing. I'm actually Claude." on you out of nowhere.
(This isn't a bad thing.)

@synthwavedd I keep seeing this read and it's terrible. Multimodal capabilities are a much bigger deal than people think. The fact that Google is categorically the best in this domain (an order of magnitude stronger, cheaper, and faster) is signal that they are doing something right.

On July 13, 2026, at approximately 7:00 AM ET, ICE was conducting targeted surveillance on the last known address of an illegal alien with a final order of removal. An illegal alien departed the residence in a vehicle. ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The vehicle attempted to flee the scene and, fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon.
The driver of the vehicle was struck, and emergency services were immediately contacted. He passed away from his injuries.
The Biddeford Police Department and FBI responded to the scene. DHS OIG has been notified and like all discharge of firearms this will be investigated. This is a developing situation, and we will update the public when more information is available.

@ID_AA_Carmack has anyone ever told you you look kinda like a skeleton. Like if someone took a picture of you with heavy top lighting (so your eye sockets are in shadow) and posterized it then scaled it down to like 64x64 it could work as a skeleton sprite in an early CRPG.
