With Skubal money off the blocks, you could go the qualifying offer route with Mize and that would be a win win if they’re not able to or not interested in something long term with Casey. Probably closer in value to the high end piece you’ll get in a trade for him 🤷‍♂️

35 minutes to trade 4-5 expiring deals… makes you think the tigers are staying put or trying to value upgrade their pen again. Personally don’t mind holding onto Mize, but if you’re not serious about “competing” you have to move Gleyber and company

@tommyzografos Agree about Torres. He can't get a qualifying offer. And they have his replacement (Max Anderson) immediately ready (hitting .325 at AAA). But Mize can get a qualifying offer. A 1st rd pick might be worth more than what you could get in a trade today.

Tigers are not winning the WS. All these moves being made. Mike and Torres should be traded. Don’t want to see us lose them for “nothing”.

In regard to the Tigers trading Gleyber Torres and Kenley Jansen: Torres has been on the IL twice and Jansen isn’t having a good year, so teams aren’t going to shell out for either of them. Are they both likely gone after this season? Yes, but unless the Tigers get exactly what they’re asking for, I’m fine with both staying put to help the team through the end of this season.

How far away from starting in RF for the Tigers is Z Smith? Riley, Clark and Smith in the OF can cook for years to come. Move Carp or Keith in the Mize trade!

Is it enough? The grades get higher among people who've been highest in the sport.

I also can't understand Tigers fans who refuse to acknowledge that trading assets is the way to go. This team clearly isn't winning with the roster they've got in place. Trading Skubal & others is very clearly the best way forward. It's not even a debate. Rip the bandaid off.
