Adding to this, both villages are completely deserted for years, evacuated long ago. Crpf camp Tronglaobi burned down by mob. Large sections of the CRPF camp have been burned down by the advancing mob. Visuals indicate extensive damage to residential quarters and administrative structures within the perimeter. Facing a direct threat to the weapon armories, which house sophisticated small arms and explosives, security personnel were forced to take defensive measures. To prevent the looting of lethal weaponry—which would catastrophic for regional security—personnel deployed controlled firing to push back the mob and secure the remaining tactical assets.

Fresh violence has rocked Manipur after a rocket or mortar attack struck a residential house in Bishnupur district, killing two children—a five-month-old infant and a five-year-old—and leaving their mother critically injured. In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old internally displaced girl, who had been missing since the weekend, was found dead in Manipur’s Imphal West district. The minor, originally from Moreh in Tengnoupal district, had been living in a relief camp in Imphal East after being displaced due to the ethnic violence that erupted in the state in May 2023. According to reports, the girl went missing on Saturday evening.
