@HolliSemetko My first read is that Facebook’s algorithms have been trained off of 10+ years of data, and at this point probably not worth the PR downside anymore. FR is mature enough for what they need. Similar to how Google stopped scanning gmail for ads because they had enough data.

The tragedy here is, if this interpretation had come down prior to 2013, Aaron Swartz would almost certainly still be alive. Swartz was indicted in 2011 on similar accusations of violating @JSTOR's terms of use, among other things.
