Definitely qualifies as a contender. The last time I saw so many people all talking and sharing experiences about a game this much was with Elden Ring. Those kinds of experiences are few and far between.

I'm gonna be real with you guys, I just plug my console into my TV and play. Sometimes I mess with the in-game settings. Maybe. Ray tracing, HDR, FSP, frame gen, 4K, etc. is basically gibberish to me. It's a peaceful life. However, when I see things like DLSS 5, I fear for the future integrity of the medium. You don't need to be an expert to know it looks wrong, like painted over generic AI generated trash. It looks exactly like that. Maybe it gets better the further along development goes, but as it stands right now, DLSS 5 is embarrassing to look at.
