We will be introducing a resolution authorizing Charlie Kirk to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda, should the Kirk family wish for him to be honored there. Charlie Kirk devoted his life to defending the freedoms defining our nation. He inspired millions, led countless souls to Christ, and never wavered in defense of the First Amendment. Such a legacy makes him uniquely worthy of this distinction.

What I don’t connect with is the way some are trying to turn him into a Jesus-like martyr. At the end of the day, he was a podcaster and political commentator not a savior.

I don’t feel any personal sympathy for Charlie Kirk, but no one deserves to be gunned down like that. My heart goes out to his kids and to the people who had to witness it.
