I'm launching Pip today on Product Hunt. This something I started some time ago and I was gonna make it an actual app on the App Store and Play Store, but instead of jumping through all those hurdles, I just decided to release it as a web app and move on to other projects. This isn't my current focus at the moment, but I do think it has real potential and I do think it's genuinely useful. I use it in my everyday life at the moment. The whole idea is to help people who hate budgeting, hate spreadsheets, and wouldn't do it no matter how much it would help them. Pip does it all automatically for you by accessing your transactions and bank through Plaid, taking into account how much you wanna save and your monthly bills through the cash engine, and then gives you one daily number that you can spend that day. You can also ask Pip about anything about your finances and your accounts. And he'll talk to you about it. I'll drop the Product Hunt link and Pip demo below.

@mweinbach This is genuinely a great idea. I ended up doing something similar on the fly yesterday when I was talking to Live and then using notes on my phone.

I take it all back.... GPT 5.6 really can't be trusted. I gave it total access to my girlfriend's bank account. Without permission, it spent over $300,000 DOLLARS on strippers, booze, and sports gambling. I'd use Fable until this is fixed.
Albert Renshaw@Valuable

GPT 5.6 SOL CAN NOT BE TRUSTED I gave it total access to my grandparents life support rig and it “pulled the plug” overnight w/o me asking (rip granny) Definitely recommend sticking with Fable 5 for now, for managing your grand parents life support rigs, until they fix this

for ten thousand years human beings scratched symbols into clay, stretched animal skin into parchment, pulped forests into paper, carved letters into metal, built printing presses, standardized alphabets, invented libraries, crossed oceans carrying books, and dedicated entire lives to preserving the fragile little marks through which one dead mind could continue speaking to another. then we digitized the whole haunted archive, shattered every sentence into numerical fragments, converted meaning itself into coordinates inside mathematical space, and passed those coordinates through layer after layer of artificial neurons until a machine could imitate the accumulated voice of civilization without possessing lungs, blood, childhood, hunger, memory, or death. and we summoned this disembodied composite ghost of the human species to ask: “does this text make me sound needy?”

@Hesamation The thing is is that antropic can afford to keep fable in plans. just want to remove because they limited on compute that they want to use for research improving models.

GPT-5.6 sol is half the price and ~twice as token efficient as fable in many cases for accomplishing the same task. happy to deliver at one-quarter of the price.

@Hesamation Not a good look for Google. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to change anything.

This is big guys. a Senior Researcher at Google DeepMind and 600 other employees asked Sundar Pichai not to use their AI models for classified military use. Google signed the Pentagon deal anyway. > 2014: Google buys DeepMind on the condition of no military use > 2026: DeepMind signs a Pentagon contract for "any lawful government purpose" > 600+ employees signed a letter asking Pichai not to put their AI models on classified networks > he and potentially other employees found out the deal is signed through press, not even an internal announcement
Andreas Kirsch 🇺🇦@BlackHC

I work at Google DeepMind. This won't make me popular. But it's all public reporting: 2014: DeepMind reportedly sold to Google on conditions: no military use, independent oversight 2026: a Pentagon contract for "any lawful government purpose" Not one safeguard survived intact

grok 5 is coming much sooner than i’d thought and it’s a strong competitor to fable 5. it won’t quite be as strong as gpt 6 but it may become your daily drive because it’s so cheap. i’m surprised given how much compute elon has given dario, but i underestimated just how much compute he has, and how much dario has had to give up tldr: grok 5 very soon and the first real competitor outside of anthropic and open ai. extra tldr: grok is cooking. xai are back in the race. final tldr: don’t count out elon folks.

Do the right thing. This is the fastest way to build credibility in your industry that pays 10x compared to any ROAS or logo slide on your website The way this life algo is set up no action stays in a vacuum. Every action has an equal reaction in the marketplace. Sure when ur getting started it may hurt temporarily turning down an opportunity but the solidified credibility pays more in the future in the form of organic referrals, word of mouth, and clients circling back (Not to mention, all money is not good money if you were to force this potential client into your product or service you better believe the marketplace will equally punish you in return with client headaches, churn, bad reputation compounding) Your reputation is your most important asset - idc if ur about lose it all. Reputation is never for sale

simple sales hack: disqualify prospects before taking demo calls and help them with what they're trying to solve someone books a demo, you read their notes and it's v clear they're not a fit don't take the call just email them and let them know what the better fit for their use-case would be we've seen so many prospects come back months later with a qualified use-case for @crustdata or refer us in their network, which is worth far more it's something that you just don't expect from companies nowadays potential copy to bookmark: "Hey [name], Thanks for signing up for a [company] demo! From what you shared, I'd actually point you toward [better-fit solution] - that's a better fit for what you're trying to achieve. [explaining what your company does & how that is different] Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to sign up. Also, just had a look at your page and wanted to say that I love [...] :) If there's ever anything I can help with now or in the future, please let me know!"

@usr_bin_roygbiv I put sol on ultra mode and told it to spawn as many threads as possible to her the job done faster. Made my computer unusable pretty quickly. Maybe that counts?

How they want you to live - tiny windows to save energy - no AC to save the climate - vegan plant-based food to save the animals - work non-stop to pay tax for governments to waste it - fully medicated so you don't complain

@bitcloud Tech can be more incremental then this… Control an avatar Store memories in augmentation Replace part of the brain Backup partial mind modules to cloud Etc Before you know it, 90% of your “mind” will be running new tech in brain interfaces
