@uizard The code it exports is kind of useless. import React from 'react'; const styles = { Screen: { backgroundColor: '#07532f', }, }; const Screen = (props) => { return ( <div style={styles.Screen}> {props.children} </div> ); }; export default Screen;

@stylewarning By learning C and contributing features in C, you’ll learn exactly how the code base works and how to read it. Then you can start considering if there’s a means to add components in a higher level language that will interop with C

I would start off by getting it running. Buy a used 32-bit windows if you need to. You don’t know what you’re dealing with if you can’t see it running. What if it doesn’t actually work? Then, you can work to get it compiled and working on a 64-bit Windows. Now you can use a modern machine and code on it to add your features. Stick with C to start. Learn C if you have to. Use ChatGPT to convert pseudo code to C if you need to, rather than trying to migrate 150K lines from C to something else.

You inherit a math program that is 150,000 lines of C, with no tests, mostly written in the late 80s/early 90s that only works on 32-bit Windows and has a GUI. You want to add a great many features to both the frontend and backend. What will be your approach?

Those oscillations along with angle oscillations means total solar eclipse is rare. Sun distance also moves farther and closer, and on a different period cycle than the moon. I’d wager no two eclipses have ever been exactly the same in terms of the relative size of the moon to the sun

In a total eclipse the moon has to be big enough to fully or almost fully obscure the sun except the Corona. But it It doesn’t have to be EXACTLY the same size as the sun, just bigger. There’s a +/- threshold of a few % where we’d still count it as a total eclipse. Still, they’re only 1.5% different. Won’t be the case when moon orbit gets farther away from Earth. Therefore, a coincidence for our era.

If you’re so smart, explain why the sun and moon are the same size in the sky. How is the moon 400 times smaller than the sun, but also about 400 times closer to earth? Is there a mathematical reason for this? Or just coincidence?
