@wil_da_beast630 @HowdyDowser Indeed. Noone is on any any moral high ground speaking ill of the dead but this kind of stuff from the orange retard makes the whole 'Luigi did nothing wrong' less worse...even the Charlie Kirk reaction...I mean ks of knobs on TikTok vs POTUS...

Eh. You genuinely cannot even begin to imagine how little I care about convetional moral rules. None, or almost none, are ultimate, enforced by God, etc. But, many serve a useful purpose. I laughed when I saw this dumb tweet - but I also know that removing the norm vs speaking ill of the dead will coarsen and worsen "discourse" in real and important ways :).

@G_S_Bhogal Far be it from me to disagree with such research yet I feel there's a difference between sitting there looking at your watch every two minutes in impatience to being sixty and feeling like you still have a lot to do. They are micro & macro views on time

@uberman21 All the research finds that the opposite is true; more awareness of time slows down experienced time. As the saying goes, "a watched pot never boils".

The way time speeds up as we age, and our lives accelerate toward death, is like the way a person in freefall accelerates toward the ground. But time speeds up largely because there’s ever less novelty as we age, so by doing new things, you can deploy a chronological parachute.

This rainbow junction in Hounslow cost £48,174 of public money. Some will say it promotes inclusion. Others will question the cost. Where do you stand?

Idk the truth of the F35 claims, but I know all of the Agitbots are lying. America and her allies are absolutely smashing Iran. Easily. Like, not even remotely close.

Finished painting my chicken coop… please note a coop like this isn’t necessary for keeping hens. Plus my girls spend the day outside even the cage when I’m around as there are no predators. It’s just for when I’m away or if large dogs are around

Remember this article from Jenni Murray in 2017. Totally reasonable, nothing extreme, just saying men can’t be women. Then there was all the protests, calls to cancel talks, The BBC warned her, restricted her on air, and by 2020 she left Woman’s Hour. But she never backed down, even as the pushback continued for years. This is how speaking honestly costs you in public life. But she was forever right. Rest in peace, brave and courageous Jenni Murray. thetimes.com/article/490f2f…

For a number of years, more than 20 years ago, I worked for a Pakistani owned business and lived in a Muslim dominated area of Manchester. I understand why Nick feels this way, and those railing against it in the name of diversity are ignoring that Islam is aggressively intolerant of other religions. I have many years of personal experience with both immigrant and British born Pakistanis. There was no real difference. Islam is the one true faith and all others are "kafir". It's a far more exclusive religion than others, there is no interest in diversity of faith. You are Muslim, or you are "kafir". This was highlighted to me on the day of 9/11. It was early in the morning, around 9am, and cheers started echoing down the corridors. Word started to spread and they were all grinning and clapping each other on the backs. These were men and women born and raised here for the most part. The owner wheeled in a big CRT TV and 30-40 of them gathered around BBC news laughing and cheering like Pakistan were in the cricket world cup final. It is not hard to see why large public prayers by followers of a religion perceived as hostile to your very existence can feel less like worship and more like an assertion of dominance. I'm sure there are many good, tolerant Muslim people in this country who mix Western ideals with the muslim faith. People that consider themselves British among all else. But I learned that day that there are less than you think.
Nick Timothy MP@NJ_Timothy

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.
