@gagagweegs @TheTennisTalker Time will tell (although I still don’t think she’s deserving of a Wimbledon MDWC considering she’s wasted numerous chances over the years plus IMO it’d be better to invest in the younger players instead like Mika, Mimi and Hannah).

Anne Keothavong going to have A LOT of choices to make before The Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen 😆 Her top 4 singles players didn't play in the qualifying tie against Australia but which will make themselves available later in the year..... 👀👀

@sharrond62 It’s even more impressive they managed to do it without the likes of Boulter, Jones, Kartal, Nicholls and Raducanu because I honestly thought they had no chance without them, but fair play to them for proving me wrong. 👏 💪

@gagagweegs @TheTennisTalker No one’s really “deserving” of a WC especially one who’s underachieved in her whole career and no longer at an age where her mediocrity should continue to be rewarded. She, Burrage and Watson should instead be consigned to compete in the qualifying rounds in Roehampton. 🤷‍♂️

@uddinbijaz97 @TheTennisTalker Dart has a similar record to Katie Boulter at Wimbledon, both having received 3 wildcards & both reaching the 3rd round twice. Dart is well deserving of a wildcard. Burrage & Watson probably less so, based on current form.

Gosh the race for Wimbledon tennis main draw Wildcards going to be very competitive in 2026, maybe the toughest ever (as it should be) in the Men's side with so many Brits in the top 250 and just outside I'm sure there will be a bit of 'who you know' also 😉

@pavyg @the_LTA @BJKCup @harriet_dart Thought GB were gonna get battered without Emma, Katie B, Sonay and Fran, but a rather pleasant surprise they’re 2-0 up so far against the Aussies. Impressive from Mika in particular to beat Gibson who was in red hot form in IW and Miami recently. 😳 😲

Wow what a day for @the_LTA GB women without their No 1 player, Emma Raducanu have taken a 2-0 lead over Australia in the @BJKCup qualifiers. A great win here for @harriet_dart as she beats Kimberley Burrell. 👏🇬🇧 #BacktheBrits

@the_LTA @BJKCup Hopefully this can be the start of Mika making further inroads in the rankings this year because this certainly is quite a statement to beat a player who’s been in red hot form recently. To hammer down 12 aces is even more impressive as well. 👏 👏 👏

@OpenCourt Would rather her than Harriet Dart tbh because although she’s still rough around the edges considering her age and inexperience, but she does have the potential and weapons to take the initiative in matches unlike Dart whose game is too lightweight.

Machac is actually bringing Sinner to the net which so few players do! He moves 5-2 up. 👀

@saturniscool @TheTennisTalker Maybe, but still, these two haven’t achieved anything at Wimbledon or on the main tour in general to continue hogging WCs. I mean, if TA can kick Rodionova to the curb, then there’s no reason why the AELTC and LTA can do that with these two.

@uddinbijaz97 @TheTennisTalker 2 out of 3 of those have pitched in for the GB team in Australia. I know there are valid reasons why the top Brits didn’t make the ridiculous trip but I think Jodie & Harriet have pushed their case.

@SteveRedfearn2 @the_LTA @BJKCup Hopefully she can fulfil her potential in years to come instead of falling by the wayside like many of our players have done over the years despite promising junior careers. Matilda Mutavdzic springs to mind.

@DelhiCapitals Don’t quite know what on earth was he thinking by refusing to take a run before the last ball. Sure, Kuldeep isn’t known for his batting, but still, it won’t do his confidence the world of good if he doesn’t have the trust of his team mate plus it cost them the match. 🤷‍♂️ 🤨 🤦‍♂️

Pretty impressive win form Jelena Ostapenko after being 0-4 down in the second set. She loves Linz (former champ) and loves indoor clay (won the big Stuttgart 500 in 2025). Faces Ruse in the QFs

@pavyg @JelenaOstapenk8 Eala only really has herself to blame because she was a break up in the first set and a double break up in the second only to then throw away the advantage. 🤷‍♂️

A great win for @JelenaOstapenk8 she beats Alexander Eala in straight sets at the WTA 500 in Linz. Ostapenko with a sensational comeback as she was 1-5 down in the 2nd set but rolled off 6 consecutive games as Eala seemed to struggle under the pressure.

@TennisBlogger1 Yastremska (and Potapova) are frustrating to watch because there are times when you think these two should be in the top twenty or thereabouts considering their weapons and ceiling only for their inconsistencies to creep in.

You rarely see someone hitting the backhand as poorly as Yastremska is hitting her backhand right now. Her backhand is totally erratic and it's gifting Ruse point after point in this matchup in Linz. And, to be frank, Yastremska's forehand is too inconsistent, as well.
