@UECCC1 has signed a partnership with @AbsaUganda to provide a UGX 11 billion concessional credit facility aimed at increasing access to affordable clean energy solutions across the country. The facility is being implemented under the Electricity Access Scale-Up Project (EASP) Credit Support Facility and is part of UECCC’s financial intermediation role to channel concessional funding through commercial banks to the energy sector. Under this arrangement, @UECCC1 will extend concessional financing to @AbsaUganda which will then on-lend to Energy Service Companies (ESCOs). The funding will lower the cost of financing for clean energy investments, support working capital and inventory financing for solar home systems, institutional solar installations, productive use equipment for small enterprises, and clean cooking technologies. This partnership will drive Uganda’s energy transition and expand affordable clean energy access while reducing reliance on biomass for households, businesses, and off-grid communities. #EASP #CleanEnergyAccess #CleanEnergy #StrategicPartnerships

@UECCC1 was thrilled to be part of Energy Acess Investment Forum #EAIF2026 @SafariPark_H , Nairobi. Our team proudly showcased Uganda’s clean energy financing journey, connecting with innovators and partners from across the world. The exhibition provided a powerful platform to highlight how financing solutions are unlocking access to renewable energy. The conversations at the conference were inspiring; bold ideas on scaling renewable energy, fresh perspectives on partnerships, and a strong focus on innovation driving inclusive growth. We saw first-hand how collaboration is shaping the future of sustainable energy across the continent. We return energized and motivated, proud to have shared Uganda’s story and to be part of the movement shaping Africa’s energy landscape. Together, we’re building a cleaner, brighter future. #CleanEnergy #SustainableFinance #EAIF2026

Through the Electricity Access Scale-up Project (EASP), we continue to advance the renewable energy agenda by strengthening partnerships that promote sustainable energy solutions across Uganda. Last month, we partnered with @unacc_ug to support it’s members’ participation in the Eastern Agricultural Show/Exhibition held in Soroti City (21st–24th March 2026). We had over 15 companies affiliated to UNACC and the EASP exhibiting at the show.

Empowering youth to lead the #CleanEnergy transition! 🔥 On Easter Eve, we engaged student representatives from 10 secondary schools in Wakiso District in a Clean Cooking Cook-Off & workshop under the Clean Cooking Capacity Building for Schools Project. Funded by @IRENA and implemented with Centre for Inclusive Green Skills(CIGS), the initiative equips students with knowledge & practical skills to champion #CleanCooking. Ms. Gauri Singh (@IRENA) applauded @MEMD_Uganda for driving behavioural change through schools. The verdict? Students strongly endorse clean cooking technologies & fuels for a healthier, sustainable future. 🌱 #YouthLeadership #EnergyTransition #ClimateAction #CleanCooking

Paul Palagen, a Community Engagement Officer at Karin, highlights how access to hot water has improved maternal care at their facility. “At the beginning, we were having challenges… mothers coming for delivery were not accessing hot water, and even after delivery it was difficult to get it within the required time.” Through the RBF programme implemented by Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company, the facility received a water heating solution, addressing a critical gap in service delivery. “But now that the water heater is there, it is a benefit to us and also to the community around us.” He notes that mothers are now receiving better care, with reliable access to hot water during and after delivery.

Ssalongo Twebaze, a mixed farmer in Buwama, used to fetch water from over two miles away, a costly and exhausting process that even required hiring over eight people just to sustain the farm. Through the RBF programme implemented by @UECCC1, he acquired a solar water pump at a 60% subsidy through @sprinktech making it affordable to install a reliable water solution on his farm. Today, everything has changed. The farm has enough water for livestock, irrigation, and household use throughout the year; even during the dry season. What was once a daily struggle is now a stable and efficient system. He appreciates UECCC and partners for making water access easier and transforming farming operations.
