Imagine seeing this for the first time in 1983! In terms of graphics, this wasn’t just miles ahead… it was basically a whole other dimension. Yes, the difficulty level was insane, but even just seeing one more screen or getting past one more trap was so worth it.

A bit of Mad Max apocalypse with a pinch of Ben Hur chariot racing flair... that's what you get from an unhinged dude on a high-speed bike with a baseball bat! Road Rash (1991) was truly a spectacle. Did you bat-swing and kick your path to glory back in the day?

@exQUIZitely any examples of this style recently? They seem like they would be cheaper to produce and benefit from franchises etc. Im not much of a gamer these days but cant remember anything new like them. Monkey Island was our favourite.

Adventure games had a massive run in the 80s and 90s (Infocom, Sierra, and LucasArts are the standout studios). I know that the genre isn't completely dead but it's certainly way past its peak. Big studios are not creating new ones (and haven't done so in a long time), while indi-devs have put together some wonderful little gems. Do you remember the very first adventure game you ever played? It was King's Quest for me... at an age where English was a challenge, but I played it nonetheless and loved it. The fact that you could "talk" to the computer blew my mind as a kid. What about you?

@HenryAv63694996 @pietergaricano hard not to notice the "Dumbing down" of things. Watch an episode of Bullseye on Challenge and see the Qs they were getting, the few educational things on TV now etc.

@pietergaricano Has our IQ declined or only the people in power? Just the fist question, "the good or evil of novel reading" reveals so much. They believed in truth.

I've been thinking about games that feel truly ageless - ones that are essentially as enjoyable and satisfying today as they were when they first released. You can go back to classics like Pong, Space Invaders, or Pac-Man, but it’s hard to deny that you can see (and feel) their age now. They’re still fun, but time hasn’t passed them by unnoticed. I would argue that Tetris is the most ageless game ever made. It never relied on flashy graphics or impressive sound; its strength lies in one of the simplest and most brilliant concepts in gaming history. I'm sure it will still be played in 100 years - and that it will have exactly the same addictive appeal then as it does now. Can you think of any other games that fit this pretty rare category of a game that simply doesn't age?

- you have 1500 followers - you've locked down your 10/10 girl - you spent 5 years together - but the soccer star from your country with 50 million followers wants your girl. - she dumps you in 2 weeks for Lamine Yamal - now he took her to the World Cup Competition was unfair.
