There’s a reason that baby dolls, toy kitchen sets, and play vacuum cleaners are all popular sellers.
That’s because your toddler’s imaginary play begins close to home…. Not as an astronaut or princess, but as the person they know best (and adore most): YOU.
And while these are great choices when it comes to playtime, don’t overlook daily opportunities for your little one to participate alongside you in the real world.
Safety comes first, of course, so mind the butcher knives and glassware… but can your toddler help unload plastic bowls? Transport laundry items? Sweep? Absolutely.
Will it take longer and be less efficient? Also yes. But efficiency isn’t the point here.
Connection and apprenticeship are.

Very convenient isn't it this attack in Golders Green, 3 men know exactly where to go to find 4 unprotected ambulances, and they have exactly the right tools, packs of solid combustibles to do it. All exactly when they need it to generate support for the war in the Middle East.

I was a professor for 15 years at the University of Guelph-Humber.
I said Hamas were Nazis — in a comment to a stranger in Pakistan, unrelated to my job.
A faculty member with thousands of posts calling Jews “filth” and “subhuman” helped lead the campaign against me.
I was suspended without charges.
Within hours, a completely false story about me was circulating across campus.
The university refused to correct it — and let it spread for two years.
Their “human rights” department didn’t investigate him. They cleared him.
Jewish students had already told me they felt they had to hide their Stars of David.
I told them they could come to my office if they ever felt unsafe.
I was fired.
They were left without that protection.
If you think this matters, restack this.

This evening I visited Golders Green to stand with the Jewish community.
Enough words.
We need action: proscribe the IRGC and the Muslim Brotherhood, ban the hate marches, stop two tier policing and bring an end to antisemitism in our institutions like university campuses, the NHS and the BBC.

Flashback: A Palestinian mother from Gaza brought her sick son to an Israeli hospital for life-saving treatment, free of charge, from the very people she views as enemies.
In the interview (right there in the hospital), she openly says she'd rather he grow up to become a "martyr" (die in jihad/terrorism against Jews) than die from illness. She wants him healthy... so he can blow himself up in a crowded Israeli place, maybe even the same hospital that saved him.
She explains: Allah obligates every Muslim to wage jihad and embrace martyrdom. Unlike Jews and Christians who mourn dead children, Muslims rejoice when their kids are martyred in holy war, because Allah guarantees them paradise.
This isn't fringe. It's the raw ideology fueling the conflict: gratitude for mercy twisted into a desire for future violence.
Human life saved by Israelis, only to be sacrificed against them. That's the tragic, twisted reality.

Sadiq Khan is more than happy to refer to Islam incessantly when it comes to Ramadan lights, Donald Trump or Trafalgar Square iftars.
