@undercoverteac3 @ofsted Last time we had OFSTED, we had reading cafes organised for pupils and their parents/caters. Over 200 parents came in across the 2 days OFSTED were there. They were impressed that we stuck to our plans and with the levels of parental engagement. No intention of changing for them!
English

@StuOfSociology @ofsted Thanks for the advice Stuart
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted Shouldnt have told the school when they were coming in.
English

@undercoverteac3 @Rosylone @ofsted If the leadership don't believe the nice things represent the best view of the school and its teaching then they maybe need to look at themselves in the mirror rather than wait for an inspection to wake them up.
English

@undercoverteac3 @Rosylone @ofsted Respond to the parents questionnaire to say that nice things have been cancelled because they’re there. Honesty may be the best policy.
English

@sabrinacrunch @ofsted Not here it’s not. Final week of term
English

@mandy1714 @ofsted They don’t. But the pressure/stress/anxiety that they bring with them just makes the whole pointless process more manageable
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted I would be surprised if OFSTED expected plans to change if school has organised them in the correct manner and it forms part of extra-curriculum, PSHCE.lessons should be given right up to end of term and not replaced with “nice things”
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted Surprising that Ofsted would expect nice things to be cancelled esp. for very young children. The leadership should go ahead with the plans and show leadership and courage. Surely it would show the school in a positive light!
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted Weak leadership, if the activities are designed to enhance the offer for children then just push on with them
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted We had “the call” yesterday and so have “visitors” today and tomorrow. We planned to have a pyjama day tomorrow and we will still be having our pyjama day tomorrow. We ain’t changing our plans
English

@MuireannCait @ofsted Oh ffs your poor friend… One thing worse than Ofsted is a Mocksted… Tell them they need to leave asap
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted My friend told me tonight that she has a Mocksted tomorrow. They were inspected last year and did fine but the powers that be have decided that they are doing a full Mockstead every term until the next Ofsted. No fun activities for the end of term alllowed.
English

@ballater6 @ofsted They absolutely should. An easy answer is weak leadership but the flip side is I can completely understand why it happens. I’m more furious that these numpties are having such a detrimental impact on my son than anything else! How dare they 🤬
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted Shouldn’t they just do what they had planned to do….arent leaders partly to blame for not standing up & saying g we have this planned?.i wholly understand why they wouldn’t because so much rides on the result of an inspection visit #stopofsted therein lies the problem
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted True true.. remember one year school did Easter bonnet parade as usual . Loved by school community parents, grandparents etc. 9-10:30. Of course instantly wiped out with the call.
English

@NABurkinshaw Yes they do. I’m pretty sure that the schools you worked in are not representative of the entire education system
English

Do schools actually do this? None that I worked in did.
Undercover Teacher@undercoverteac3
So, my son’s school have had “the call” and Ofsted will be in school tomorrow and Wednesday. As a result all of the “nice things” planned for tomorrow and Weds have been “put on hold” I am beyond fuming! I actually HATE @ofsted #Ofsted #Education #School #Teachers #Teaching
English

@Aprilhouse23 @ofsted It’s not nonsense though is it because it has actually happened. I’m fully aware of what Ofsted say BUT the reality is very different and if you don’t believe that then that’s a you issue
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted That’s nonsense ! OFSTED do not expect schools to alter planned events and activities.
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted That means all the naughty kids get an extra couple of days off as they will be asked to stay at home
English

@peinkoffer @ofsted I like the positive spin but this shouldn’t happen. I’m not naive enough to think it doesn’t as I’ve been involved in shit like this many a time. But it’s really difficult explaining to a five year old how something they have been looking forward to now isn’t going to happen
English

@undercoverteac3 @ofsted On the plus -post May half-term -will be a truly super child centred half-term. A truly lovely summer few months ahead. Doing things that packed conveyer belt of the curriculum no longer deems important or necessary. The very things that make the school community what it is..
