@solar_cupcake @13moonshinee @robbi85088 @BradfemlyWalsh No, that is DEI. You make slower runners your first team, boot the talented black guys out because of historical dominance in sprinting and then claim the new all white first team were just as good as your originally black sprinters. It's fucking absurd.

He'd also have to do 100% of his own housework, so working, living with a woman and doing 50% of the housework still makes him better off than being single. The idea that men only work for women is the most gaslighting stupidity imaginable and only idiot men push that narrative.

@solar_cupcake @13moonshinee @robbi85088 @BradfemlyWalsh In the most progressive societies of the Nordic nations where women have total choice and little social pressure, they choose traditionally roles at a higher rate than elsewhere. This is well documented and is at scale enough to be meaningful. Your personal story is not

@unionjack78 @13moonshinee @robbi85088 @BradfemlyWalsh youre deadass arguing in bad faith, you cant go off of a society that up till the 1940s didnt allow women in trades. even in the 80 years that followed, women are still pushed away and out of the line of work for simply being women. theyre underpaid unless under union, etc

Did you know that Cuba wouldn't be in this situation if the United States didn't put sanctions and a massive embargo on it for over 60 years? If the United States left Cuba alone either two things would happen: either it will fall on its own, or it would be a massive success. The United States placing all these barriers in front of Cuba tells us that it would have been the latter. Why? Because the United States is scared that people will figure out that the system that we live under pales in comparison to Cuba's system.

We should envision a post-Putin future in which Russia 🇷🇺 emerges as a close ally and valued partner on the world stage. Just as Germany 🇩🇪, Italy 🇮🇹, and Japan 🇯🇵 transformed from wartime adversaries into prosperous democracies and steadfast allies after World War II, Russia can reclaim its former glory — this time as a free, capitalist democracy. That is the world I want to live in. I don’t yet know exactly how we get there. But first, we must dare to dream it.

People can live here, work here, pay taxes here… but aren’t allowed to read election material in a language they actually understand? My parents came from India. They couldn’t read English when they arrived. By this logic, they’d be expected to fund a system they’re locked out of participating ? STOP this racist claptrap

Today’s racism is a direct byproduct of slavery To justify the abduction, rape and murder of millions of people, colonial empires sowed the idea that “people of colour” were lesser humans Failing to strongly condemn slavery now shows us just how far the “West” has still to go!

The UN General Assembly has voted to recognise slave trade as "the gravest crime against humanity". The proposal by Ghana was adopted with 123 votes in favour and three against - the United States, Israel and Argentina. bbc.in/4rTpwqE

@tech_felon Nah. It’s super common that men use women for sex. It’s so common there’s a e for it: pump and dump. Women, unless desperate, won’t put up with a guy they hate just for the cash. And even then, they’ll be more honest about it, eg prostitution or only fans.

As a woman, you should avoid dating men who are paranoid about getting used as ATMs. Not because he's stingy and poor, though he likely is. Because he's confessing that there is nothing about him that would improve a woman's life other than his money. No personality, unattractive, not helpful around the house, bad in bed, etc

@michael0c @DamianLow3 @Jharrison22 Performatively going to church is very unprotestant. We have a direct link to God through prayer unlike Catholics who must use a priest as a conduit. It would be better for us to go to church daily but not 100 necessary to be Christian

@DamianLow3 @Jharrison22 This Reform position is just a cheap copy of far right “Christian” (white) nationalism from the USA. At least the MAGA zealots in the USA attend church and live their beliefs. It’s just nonsense in the U.K, I bet few of the Reform “Christians” even attend church on Sundays!

Something new and uncomfortable is happening on parts of the British right. Religion is being rediscovered. Not as faith. As a political weapon. 1. Figures like Nigel Farage, Robert Jenrick and Tommy Robinson are increasingly framing politics in civilisational terms. Christianity vs. something else, Britain as a religious identity under threat. 2. But this isn’t a revival of faith. It’s a repurposing of it. Christianity is being used less as a belief system and more as a cultural marker. A way of drawing lines around identity. 3. That matters because it is, at its core, selective. The language of “Christian values” appears most often in opposition to immigration, to Islam, to social change. It is rarely accompanied by any serious engagement with the actual religion itself. 4. Genuine faith is inconvenient. It asks for consistency, humility, moral discipline. Political rhetoric is not. It is flexible, opportunistic and used when useful. 5. Which is why the current trend feels less like Reform have found God and more like hypocrisy. Religion is being used as shorthand for belonging, not as a guide to conduct. 6. There is also a clear political incentive. Framing issues in civilisational or religious terms raises the stakes instantly. It turns policy debates into existential struggles, where compromise looks like surrender. The irony is obvious. Many of the loudest voices invoking Christianity are not known for deep religious observance. The appeal isn’t theological. It’s tribal. 7. And that has consequences. Once politics is framed in these terms, it becomes harder to have serious discussions about policy such as migration, integration and housing because everything is recast as identity conflict. It also risks degrading religion itself. When faith becomes a political prop, it loses credibility as a moral force. Religion has always had a place in British public life. But there is a difference between faith shaping politics and politics exploiting faith. What we are seeing now looks much more like the latter.

The phrase is "Judeo-Christian Values". It is the basis upon which the civilised world of the west is created. It is the basis upon which British culture is created. Your perspective of "weaponisation" is very likely influenced by the left wing tendency to aggression and authoritarianism.

The UK, which colonized Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, did not support a UN resolution condemning slavery. Portugal (Angola, Mozambique), France (Ivory Coast and others), Italy too. The same countries that once ruled Africa could not even formally condemn slavery. The other day I asked: If colonizers returned today, How many African countries could hold for even a week? Some of you brushed it off. But look at this. If they cannot even acknowledge the past clearly, What makes you think the future is guaranteed? Let’s stop being naive. Power respects power. That is why other regions build weapons, defense systems, and technological independence. Africa must do the same. Not out of fear, but out of reality.

Let's say those two words and sit with them. The Persian Gulf. It has been called that for over 2,000 years. In ancient Greek sources. In Roman sources. In medieval Islamic geography. In every map made by every civilization that sailed it or studied it across two millennia of recorded history. It is called the Persian Gulf because Persia, Iran, sits on its northern shore. Because Persian civilization shaped the waters, the trade routes, the ports, the culture of that body of water for longer than most of the current Gulf states have existed as political entities. Iran is not a foreign power projecting into the Gulf. Iran is the Gulf's northern shore. And the arrangement that has been constructed, where Iran is treated as a threat to Gulf stability while American carrier groups park in Iranian-adjacent waters and American bases on Gulf soil are used to conduct operations against Iran, requires a profound act of geographic and historical denial to sustain. Iran is not threatening the Gulf. Iran is in the Gulf. Iran has always been in the Gulf. What is new is not Iran's presence. What is new is the American presence. What is new is the arrangement that pays for the American presence to be maintained against the country that has been on the Gulf's northern shore for three thousand years. The Persian Gulf is not a platform for killing Persians. Iran is telling you this clearly. The clarity will not get clearer.
