In the early days ($140k per month for NY for example), they spent a lot on lobbying, to get market adoption/acceptance pushing for the "dockless" sharing. @skaragiannis @ChristosPorios docked sharing (like New York) is def better. Geofencing isn't really working. We @ridewithmosa has built new docking technology to make docked sharing 70% cheaper. But, Lime and others are just too good at lobbying.

Yup -- and it took less than two months for the city to sue and issue a cease and desist against Bird. Now, scooters in SaMo have licenses; designated parking spaces enforced via the app; fleet size quotas; usage data shared with the city. That's forward, european, green, sustainable and progressive -- turning a city into a micromobility startup jungle is just BUG (Balkan Urban Governance).

@ChristosPorios @wayneting @limebike The same shit happened here in Santa Monica when Bird launched (Bird was founded in SaMo). Scooters dumped everywhere, in the way of people with wheelchairs etc. We called it "micromobility", it was hot.
