President Trump’s executive order on college sports is below. Three key provisions: 1. Five years of total eligibility 2. Only “one” free transfer without sitting. 3. No players can return from pros. Goes into effect on 8/1. Common sense & solid: whitehouse.gov/presidential-a…

@Kylel999 @AndrewPorter663 @EricDJuly @TheCriticalDri2 People like Eric are giving Dinniman entirely too much grace. They are acting as if D needs to distance himself in order to remain in the industry. I love the DCC books, but the reality is that D is a true believer. No one needed to coerce him into denouncing Drinker.

@AndrewPorter663 @EricDJuly @TheCriticalDri2 If true, that’s even worse. Give your balls a tug man, Dinniman is the one throwing people under a bus. You’ve made yourself look foolish for downplaying what is a bitch move no matter when it was discovered.

I see a lot of people talking about Matt Dinniman denouncing @TheCriticalDri2 despite working with him previously, claiming he now "regrets" it. I'd like to offer some perspective. Anyone who wants success within the mainstream's traditional pipelines knows that even mild association with people in our corner of the internet puts that at risk. Is it illogical? Yes. But the mainstream doesn't operate on logic... it operates on status. Perceived legitimacy is powerful, and alternatives with large followings are seen as threats to their power infrastructure. So anyone still pursuing those mainstream channels will eventually be pressured to denounce or distance themselves from people in our circle, or they simply won't get the opportunities. The mainstream's cultural influence has waned, but they still control the pipelines. It's very rare for someone to access those channels while openly associating with "alternatives." We know this is foolish. People like Drinker are enormously influential and successful in their own right, but this is about power, not merit. We've had the privilege of working with The Critical Drinker on Rippaverse projects, and he's been nothing but professional. As with many in our space, his loudest critics don't actually listen to what he says, which is why they portray him as someone who hates every movie despite that being verifiably false. They need you to be whoever they need you to be in order to justify what they're going to do or say about you. Rippaverse itself has turned down or lost opportunities because of this dynamic. They'll demand you distance yourself from certain people or they won't collaborate with you. Not because you're bad, but because they want to stay in the good graces of those who've built a narrative that you are. This is why I don't have a clean answer for how we get past this era. They deploy tactics that people like us — not "right-wing," just normal people — aren't willing to engage in.

@DChadwickAuthor It depends on how you define good. If the object of writing a book is to sell copies and entertain people, then being popular is certainly a good barometer. If you want to use some pretentious definition of quality that makes you feel better about your own work, then go for it.

@fandompulse Ahhh yes, the guy selling dozens of books is a far superior writer to the guys selling tens of millions of books. This is nothing but cope and envy.

Author Dave Chadwick reacts to Dungeon Crawler Carl creator Matt Dinniman's attacks on The Critical Drinker: “Matt Dinniman is a fraud who won the lottery, much the same way Ernest Cline and Andy Weir did, and has gotten people to briefly believe he’s a good writer. And like Ernest Cline, in about five years people will realize that he is not a good writer, and that Dungeon Crawler Carl is a vomit bag, and they’ll wonder why they believed it was ever good. But it’ll be too late by then because all the Ready Player One/The Martian/Dungeon Crawler Carl knockoffs will have flooded the market and publishers will continue to believe men only want to read immature nerd slop.” Are these authors he names all propped up by the media without good reason?

I usually agree but I think we should be allowed to make exceptions when the source material is nonsensical and devoid of a story to begin with. Mario is not really about anything other than bright colors, fun adventures and random characters. I think it's allowed to be mindless. Obviously something like Zelda is a different story.

"It's for kids" — so were Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast, Toy Story, Incredibles, Narnia, The Hobbit, The Little Mermaid, and so on down a very long list of brilliant stories. "It's like they wanted [good writing]" — I would've settled for something that at least matched the story of the Super Mario Galaxy game, which a lot of this movie's defenders were apparently too dim to notice. "It's like they were expecting [a brilliant movie]" — see above. Apparently, even matching the story quality of the last Mario movie was too much to ask. "It was never intended to be [great], I thought it was great" — either it isn't great and that doesn't matter, or it is great and you should argue for its quality. Make up your mind. "Loads of fan service" — believe it or not, you can have fan service AND a good story. I'm getting bored of making this point: nobody loses if the writing is better. This hostility to the application of basic creative standards says a lot more about you than it does the critics.
Deez Games 🎮@_Deez_Games

It's mental that people are heavily critiquing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. It's a kids film, I took my 5yo son to see it today and he LOVED it. It's like they wanted shocking drama, gut wrenching monologues, life lessons, deep metaphors. It's a slightly chubby Italian plumber and his brother in their overalls, on an adventure with a screaming mushroom. That's literally all that matters. It was never intended to be Shawshank Redemption or Ben Hur, was it? I thought it was great, loads of fan service, and introduced a new generation to the amazing Fox McCloud/Star Fox 💙

@DrifterEquis @J0hnADouglas You are free to have you own opinion, but this one is pretty unpopular. Most people consider book 5 to be the best in the series. Almost everyone I've heard discuss these books thinks they get better after the first.

@J0hnADouglas DCC starts off decently enough, but by the 4th book it’s just exhausting and repetitive. The pacing is all over the place and Matt can’t write more a couple of pages at a time without a long unfunny pop culture references masquerading as jokes.

@J0hnADouglas I haven't read this book, but his DCC series is really good. There are a few moments here and there where his politics are a little heavy handed, but for the most part they are just fun little adventure stories with a lot of heart.

@ClayTravis This is bad for CFB. This is just going to allow the NCAA to continue pretending there isn't a problem for two years while this is overturned in court. They need to bite the bullet and start collective bargaining. That's where this is headed. Congress will not pass legislation.

The biggest issue right now is any act by the NCAA to set rules is challenged as an antitrust violation — which is why Congress needs to pass a bill giving an antitrust exemption for rules — but it’s stronger legal ground for NCAA to cite presidential authority than its own.

@1Spokedwhe96672 @Ambar_SIFF_MRA That may well be true. My point is that she was actually sentenced to 2 years. She got off because she became paralyzed not because she's a woman. I'm not even saying the judge was correct, just that this post was misleading.

Female privilege: A female prison guard was saved from a jail sentence despite admitting to a six-month illicit affair with a convicted r#pist serving time at a jail. Cherrie-Ann Austin-Saddington embarked on her scandalous affair with prisoner Bradley Trengrove. The pair engaged in sexual activity up to 40 times, frequently in prison workshops where they remained unseen, her trial heard.

@MorgueMews @fandompulse I don't think it's performative in Dinniman's case. He didn't hire drinker for the audiobook, Jeff Hays did. Dinniman is a pretty big lefty. I suspect this comment comes from a genuine place.

Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl, has choice words for The Critical Drinker: "I regret that my books have any association whatsoever with him. I hope one day to have his part in book three removed all together. It's a distraction, and the only edgelord douchebag I want people to think of when they read my books is the AI itself." Why did he feel the need to do this?

With Bondi departing, I have a few people in mind to be the next AG, who's your pick? • Harmeet Dhillon • Lee Zeldin • Ken Paxton • Jeanine Pirro • Ron DeSantis • Russ Vought (but he's great at OMB) Has to be ruthless and smart and impossible to distract or slow down. (PS: I’m told Gaetz isn't pursuing the post)
