On NFL on NBC interview with HC Mike Macdonald that his dad had been sick, but the story ended beautifully: "You really don't know when life is going to hit you in the face. My dad called me at the end of last season and said he had kidney disease. You know how parents do, they don't really tell you the whole story. I had no idea what kidney disease or dialysis or anything like that. You looked it up and did some quick math of how long you can be on dialysis at his age vs. what the expected turnaround time for a kidney donation. It wasn't good math, it didn't really add up. It was a tough hurdle to get over. But my dad's attitude the whole time, he was just so positive about everything. It really helped us as a family to be like, "Okay, like let's go support him. Let's do what we need to do." And if God would have it, a woman from his church, Samantha Harris, God bless her, donated her kidney to my dad. A couple of of weeks later, they did the operation. She is doing great. My dad is doing great. Was able to come for the divisional game, the Championship game, and he will be on Sunday." [📷: NFL on NBC]
