This week was an interesting one. I got presented with a choice of comfort vs discomfort. Not just a "stay in bed vs go to the gym", but a real big life change. I chose the uncomfortable path. Let's see how it plays out.

last two years, consistently around mid-july to early august, my tank hits empty. just temporarily no fuel to keep moving at my usual pace. that's exactly why there haven't been weekly posts lately. plus i started creating YT content, but after my case study that took 15+ hours got deleted due to client NDA - that was the last straw. right after that i decided i'll take it easy until vacation starts. in my free time, instead of creating smth, i felt like shitposting, gaming, and watching series (highly recommend succession). and this is expected. i think it's possible to stay super consistent when you have things like: - emotional support - healthy social life - ability to spend time with your family but in my case - these things are almost absent. not complaining, just objectively assessing the state of things in this period of life. today my two-week vacation started. want to fully reset and finally see my mom and sister since the war began. plans include family trip to the sea, deload from gym and training (since that's the only aspect i didn't neglect even during this period), kendrick concert and just wanting to not be in front of laptop 12 hours a day. will keep you posted - maybe throw some interesting insights from travels.

I was asked this twice today! Two separate founders finding it very hard to attract quality talent in their business. A+ talent wants to work with founders they trust and respect.

It's that constant battle between ambition and the fear. People have a tendency to bite off more than they can chew and then curl up into a ball and hide rather than face the dragons. In some ways I get it, in other ways, I don't. But in both cases, ghosting DMs and lying about what the situation is, is never good.

twice this month I've given people opportunities to take big steps in their career, and i've been disappointed. it's not that they don't have the skills. they literally just aren't trying. ghosting dm's, not coming even close to hitting deadlines. it's so easy to do better than people like this it's almost absurd. if you want to work with someone and they give you an opportunity, move mountains to hit the deadline you agreed to, and if it's not possible, don't agree to it. otherwise you destroy trust and belief in someone's word (and their ability to assess their own ability) if you can't do it, just say that, it's less bad than lying.

I'd argue the best thing I could do for my art is to disappear. Just like Satoshi did for Bitcoin. Obviously more to it but that's the gist. That's what I always looked for when collecting. Feeling like my bags were dependent on the success or failure of a single entity always made me feel uneasy.
