This week I’m on the road to hear directly from people who have lost faith in Labour, why and what we need to do to earn back their trust. Today, I’m visiting a farm with Joe Morris MP in Hexham to hear from some of Britain’s farmers👇

🚨M&S manager in Colchester boots woman out for asking where the women’s changing room is. Claims gender neutral areas are “completely safe” for women and girls then tells her to leave. Woke corporations erasing single-sex spaces and women’s comfort. Total madness.

Dear youngster influencers on the gram with your perfect skin, slim legs, tiny waist, and a love for Botox. I don't need you to tell me, a 56-year-old woman, that if I take a pill or two, I'll be like you. I was like you 30 years ago and am now happy being like me. I hope you can be happy in yourself one day, too 😘

@millwall_david State pension is a benefit to cover minimal living costs for all in society, it is not a retirement plan….if you want a more comfortable retirement lifestyle, we all need to take responsibility for ourselves and invest in private pensions or other investments.

Would you swap the pound for the Euro in order to rejoin the EU? It's a condition demanded by an EU chief after Labour challengers Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham put a return to the bloc back on the agenda. Is scrapping sterling a price worth paying?

How on earth has Angela Rayner been "cleared" by HMRC? She didn't pay the extra £40,000 stamp duty that was due. She didn't take the specialist tax advice on her flat purchase that she was advised to take. She failed to pay the extra stamp duty that she, as Housing Secretary, had brought in for second home purchasers. For HMRC not to issue a fine means they judged her decision as "reasonable care" having been taken, or it was possibly "careless", but not a "deliberate" underpayment. She clearly did not take "reasonable care" to ensure her tax was correct. And if it was "careless", it was *deliberate* carelessness. Do you seriously think that if YOU underpaid your taxes by £40,000 as the then Deputy Prime Minister did, that you would get away without a fine? Sorry, but this stinks.
Pippa Crerar@PippaCrerar

EXCL: Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC of deliberate wrongdoing or carelessness over her tax affairs, paving the way for a potential leadership bid if Keir Starmer’s grip on power unravels. The former DPM has settled £40,000 in unpaid stamp duty, but has not paid any penalty as a result of the investigation. HMRC was also satisfied there was no tax avoidance. Rayner tells me she was “bruised” by whole experience because of intrusion into her disabled son’s personal life, but also because it had appeared as though she was “in it for myself” rather than on the side of ordinary people. Rayner indicated she may run in event of a contest as she would “play my part” and that she understood why Labour MPs were so upset following last week’s election crushing. She said Starmer should “reflect on” stepping aside.

@DaleVince I think you mean HAD if he were go to the polls today it’s doubtful he’d keep his own seat. He and a lot more of the cabinet are liabilities and should look to themselves.

To anyone considering a leadership challenge I say - put the country first, not your own interests or those you might claim are the interests of the party. Keir Starmer has a massive democratic mandate from the public, nobody has the right to seek to depose him, nobody. Not Wes, not Ed, not Andy, not Angie. Yes Keir is unpopular in the polls, that’s current public sentiment - it’s not a mandate for getting rid of him. Opinion polls are snapshots of opinions. Local election results are always an opportunity to register a protest. Labour has a job to do, we’re not even two years in yet, things are tough - a leadership challenge would be self indulgent and illogical - in my view.

We are delivering on our manifesto and our economy is stabilising. The Prime Ministers global leadership has been excellent. A 5th prime minister in 6 years will paralyse our government and make the cost of living crisis worse. We promised stability and I will fight for that.

One thing I’ve not heard much of in the debate about who should be Prime Minister of our country is the human being at the centre of this, & his family, & the effect of this on them all. The vitriol is off the scale. Show some humanity. People we disagree with are not enemies

Sir Peter Morris: Just fed up of all the nonsense.
I can't bottle it up any longer. I had a short spell in Barnsley hospital, following a fall I had at home. The general care was pretty much ok. BUT. They decided I could go home. Brilliant I thought. They sent me to another ward, I ended up in a room on my own, tended by two nurses. They were absolutely vile to me. It honestly felt like I was on the set of 'misery, the movie'. I didn't learn their names...(kinda glad I didn't) they were vile to me. Is that what you have to endure, getting older? I hope not.

BREAKING NEWS: Starmer’s amazing speech Sir Keir Starmer smashed it out of the park today with a barnstorming speech which astonished critics and colleagues alike. Speaking without notes and cheered on by his cabinet colleagues he gave a passionate defence of Labour’s record. Even the hard- nosed press corps assembled in Downing Street burst into spontaneous applause at the end. Meanwhile cheering crowds poured onto the streets of Red Wall constituencies waving union jacks pledging support for the PM. Just kidding of course. Th reality? Starmer’s speech was the same old reheated, vapid drivel we’ve heard a hundred times before, delivered with his usual lack of charisma and with contents about as inviting as a week old litter tray.
