An earlier case filing cites the ATF’s finding on the bullet: “The result of the comparison was inconclusive.” If there's an “inconclusive” result, it does not mean that the bullet was not fired from that rifle. It means that there was not enough data on the bullet jacket fragment recovered from the autopsy to positively match it or not match it with a bullet test-fired from the rifle. That's ALL it means.
