Es gab nie „ukrainische pro-russische Separatisten“ im Donbas. Es gab eine von Russland injizierte Gewaltaktion mit bezahlten Akteuren, die größtenteils nicht mal Ukrainer waren. Und wer Augen hatte, zu sehen, und wer dieses Land kannte (ich zB), wusste das vom ersten Tag an.

I told our American partners they could understand whether Putin wanted peace by finding answers to the issues as follows: First, try to organize a meeting at the level of leaders to discuss territories. Putin has refused. Second, if he doesn't want to continue the aggression after a ceasefire, propose deploying American and European soldiers along the contact line. Putin’s response was, “No, no foreign soldiers of any kind”. Why? This can only mean he wants to go forward. Third, he has around 17 million square kilometers of land. Yet, he tells Americans, “Look, what’s the problem? It's only about 6,000 square kilometers”. Can you imagine that someone who has millions of square kilometers, 70% of which is underdeveloped and doesn’t have proper infrastructure, is asking for more? Do we really believe that all he needs is an additional 5,800 square kilometers? This is not his goal. Donbas is a strategic place in Ukraine. Once he has our industrial cities and fortifications in the region, there are only open fields and direct roads to our regional capitals. What I mean is that we understand why he wants Donbas. Es ist intensiv zu spüren, wie sehr das Vertrauen in westliche Partner auf den Prüfstand kommt und kritischer wird. Ich empfinde bei meinen ukrainischen Gesprächspartnern aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft ubd Zivilgesellschaft das Gefühl, ausgenutzt zu sein.

🇮🇹🇪🇺 This is utterly unacceptable. Reports indicate that Giorgia Meloni is preparing to sideline Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo, Italy’s largest defence group. The reason? Multiple sources suggest this is not about performance - under Cingolani, Leonardo’s stock has registered a +700% increase - but rather about the “Michelangelo Dome”. Leonardo’s new AI-based air defence system, reportedly set to be tested in Ukraine in 2026, is now seen as “too competitive” for Washington. According to several reports, Cingolani’s perceived “too European” stance - focused on strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy - may have played against him. If confirmed, this would be a political decision against Europe’s industrial and strategic interests. European states cannot claim sovereignty, and then punish those who actually try to build it.
