Well I am one of those people that like for it to be scored correctly. I realize that's a me thing and most don't care so if people on other teams want to use on base percentage as batting average that's their business and I wouldn't say anything. However, for the kids I want it scored correctly so that they can learn the correct way AND so that they don't get that "they cheatin me" mentality when they get to HS and it's scored correctly. It also helps with one pet peeve of mine and that's fielders trying to show out hopping spinning and such and making bad throws to first and then them blaming the first basemen because he didn't "scoop it". When they realize the error is on them it cuts down on that hot dogging alot. Same thing with wild pitches vs passed balls it shuts people up from blaming the catcher for everything LOL.

Unpopular opinion: but until 13 or 14u, and probably even then...why score it that closely. Solid contact is a hit, period. Catcher overthrows 2nd on a steal attempt, its a steal. Passed ball....you just stole home!! Its just youth baseball. Lol

@BaseballDudes48 Most people don't know the scoring rules well enough to score it, especially wild pitches vs passed balls and throwing errors vs fielding errors.

Imagine having an outsider, un-biased, third party running the GameChanger and scoring every hit, error, passed ball, wild pitch, fielders choice, stolen base, and indifference by the rules. This person might end up being hated more than the umpires!! 😂😂

@CoachJJ85 @mammallovesyou @bigsnugga Thats a great way to do it but now days they hit you with 15 yards for hitting a quarterback even though he is carrying out the fake. IMO if he's gonna fake it he should be legal to hit but they look at it different lots of times LOL

@mammallovesyou @bigsnugga We always played it way different than everyone else. Any time our ends got released on a read, we took a straight line to QB & took him to the ground every single time he carried a fake. Kind of limited their playbook & they got tired of their QB getting hit every play.

Sometimes high academic kids go to lower levels of athletics just for the education. There are kids at Johns Hopkins that can play D2 or maybe even some D1 heck they finished in the top 4 of the National Championship this year so sometimes it's not all the athletic ability. I do think coaches sometimes don't want to be the first to offer and then they blow up and offer late. Seen that a few times following my favorite college teams.

@TEwracademy I can believe that. I've had similar things happen. I have never even tried to pitch a 4 star player to a D2. That's the part I'm not understanding. And if the 2nd result in both of his cited incidents, was that the players landed at D1 schools why call out the D2 program?

I have personally experienced a smaller school in Ga telling me a kid wasn't good enough to play at their school but 2 months later this kid has 15 D-1 offers. So before he blew up, I was told this kid wasn't an offer kid for them.

@JeffBarnes52 You didn't need to step down. They were going to complain no matter what you did. All you stepping down did was change the story to they only let him play to satisfy you because you used to be the AD. Coaches kids have to be twice as good as other kids just to play.

As an AD with a child who plays varsity sports, I chose to step back from coaching because I knew the politics around playing time could become a distraction. I believed removing myself was what was best for the situation. The reality is, even when your child is treated exactly like everyone else, even getting benched during the season, it still does not change some people’s opinions about how things work. At the end of the day, the best players should play.

You can't ask for better than them for your kids and their future. If you want coaching then go to them they will make your kid better.

@anymanfitness Can’t argue with this BUT it’s not as accurate for linemen though if they are at a decent sized school most of the time no matter how good they will be in the future they ain’t beating out a Jr or Sr. Too much difference in strength.

If your kid is good enough to play Division 1 sports, they will be the best player on the court or field every single game (other than rare exceptions). They will start - and excel - as a freshman. If that’s not happening, time for a dose of reality.

@coach_hadac @ncsa We use it and like it. My daughter got her cheer spot through them. You have to know what it is. It is a database that facilitates connections with you and the coaches. It’s easy to search easy to navigate but you have to do the work. It’s worth it for us
