@atulkasbekar @CSMIA_Official London Heathrow - you have to go to short stay car park and pick up the passenger from there. And yeah! Pay the parking fee as well. So it is not correct to say this practice is only in Mumbai/India

At any airport round the world, u can come out to the kerb at arrivals and can be picked up by your car It is of course a quick 5’, ‘load bags n jump in’ pit stop At @CSMIA_Official (Mumbai Airport) you have no such choice. You HAVE to go into the parking to collect the passengers. Then wait in line to exit and get slammed for some ₹300 (P6 rates). A 3-4’ pick up results in a 20-25’ headache This is such a waste of time and a rip off. The math of this extortion fleecing patrons runs into a massive number for the airport Should be illegal or poorly planned intentionally

I left my job as a Developer at Microsoft in US, and moved to India for a remote job opportunity. It changed my life for better: 1. The "PPP" Superpower: In Seattle, $250k is "comfortable." In Delhi, it is "Dynasty Wealth" (Family House). My rent dropped 80%. My savings rate hit 90%. I stopped looking at menu prices. 2. The "Time" Dividend: No more lonely winters. No more frozen dinners. No more 2-hour commutes on the 101. Now, I have chai with my parents every evening. I have a cook. I have a driver. I have time (Yes I pay them well). 3. The Career Hack: I didn't "step down." I stepped up. Remote work strips away the "visa anxiety." I focus purely on the building good products. And on my own ideas. I didn't leave the US to retire. I left to actually live.

Travelled last month. Still the same issue. It is 2026. Find a way to do a visa check online!

Dear @britishairways and @HeathrowAirport, This summer, on our way to India, we were flying BA from LHR. We could do an online check-in before the flight but were not issued the boarding pass – as our visas to India had to be checked by BA at the airport. We reached the airport with plenty time to spare… or so we thought. There were exactly two counters to check visas. (We had already checked in our bags using Airportr service. So we were traveling only with cabin bags.) One was in the south wing of T5 and the other, the north wing. Both had a serpentine queue with people using the counter for all sorts of stuff – not just visa validation. By the time our turn came, it had been 90 minutes in the airport already and we were getting jittery about catching our flight. By then, the queue for security check had grown a lot. Thanks to an understanding BA ground staff member, we were given Fasttrack option and got to the gate just in time to catch the flight! This begs the question. In 2024, why are we still dependent on a human being checking our Visas in the airport? Why is there no option on British Airways website or mobile app to enter our visa details (in this case, the OCI details for India) in advance so that they could be verified by you before the check-in process? You have the option for us to upload our passport details. So why not the visas as well for other countries? If this is something that you cannot take care of because of some government regulations or rules, why not have more counters open in the airport to handle this? And they have to exclusive to visa check – so that we don’t have to wait behind people trying to check-in 25 pieces of baggage! Please fix this one way or another. This is a jarring experience for most of the travellers. #BritishAirways #HeathrowAirport

Iceland Cricket
Iceland Cricket@icelandcricket·
Dear @ICC, It is with a heavy heart that we now announce our unavailability to replace Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Regardless of whether they now withdraw, the short timescales ensure it is impossible for our squad to prepare in the professional manner necessary to compete effectively in this global cricketing spectacle. We are not like Scotland and able to turn up on a whim, with no kit sponsor. Our players are from all walks of life and cannot simply drop their occupations to fly halfway around the world to experience temperatures only normally felt in Finnish saunas. Our captain, a professional baker, needs to attend to his oven, our ship captain needs to steer his vessel, and our bankers need to go bankrupt (again). This is the harsh reality of cricket at the amateur level of the game. This news will be extremely disappointing to our fans. Despite being the most peaceful nation on Earth, we maintain an army of online followers, and are the world's 14th most followed national board on X. We were ready to give the Dutch the biggest shock they have experienced since William of Orange lost the Battle of Landen in 1693. And the Americans were looking forward to taking on Greenland, or so their orange-dyed leader thought. Our loss is likely Uganda's gain. We wish them well. Their kits cannot be missed unless you have epilepsy, in which case they are probably best avoided. The future is always ice, until it isn't. Yours sincerely, Icelandic Cricket Association

New U.K. visa rule is live. 🇬🇧 If you are a U.S. passport holder, you now need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before traveling to the U.K., even if you are just transiting through a U.K. airport. #Visa

Just realised that Amber Alert is not referring to a colour! but an actual person Amber Hagerman, 9 year old child who was abducted and murdered in 1996! On the other hand, amber warnings from weather agencies is a colour grading system - nothing to do with Amber Hagerman. Thank you. Happy Thursday

Maybe it's too soon, but I tried to gather numerical data on various modes of transport and their fatality rates (people who died vs. people involved). Considering only fatal accidents (at least one death), air travel is still not too dangerous! (Thanks Grok) #AirAccidents #grok

Lord Arthur Savile's Crime by Oscar Wilde is a darkly humorous short story about fate, duty, and moral dilemmas. At a high-society party, Lord Arthur has his palm read by Mr. Podgers, a cheiromantist (palm reader), who reveals that Arthur is destined to commit murder. Deeply troubled but determined to fulfill his fate before marrying Sybil Merton, Arthur devises multiple failed attempts to kill a suitable victim. His plans range from poison to explosives, but each effort is thwarted by chance. Eventually, circumstances take an unexpected turn, and Arthur finds himself free from the burden of murder—just not in the way he anticipated. Wilde explores themes of destiny, morality, and the absurdity of social conventions with his signature wit and irony. Lord Arthur Savile's Crime - Wikisource, the free online library
