After the effect of 'Mr Bates vs the Post Office', let’s hope Toby Jones is also working on new TV dramas about water pollution, climate change, covid, PPE contracts, the refugee crisis, the cost of living, energy prices, and the NHS
This snowy scene was captured during a particularly severe winter in Britain in 1894-95 known as ‘The Great Frost’.
The photographer, Paul Martin (1864-1944) pioneered street and night photography, with some shots requiring exposures of anything between 10 to 20 minutes. He described his nighttime adventures as “amusing experiences” - passers-by were not used to seeing a man with a camera and he was often stopped and questioned by the police.

Ever wondered who from #TheThursdayMurderClub you are most like - headstrong Elizabeth, warm Joyce, analytical Ibrahim or courageous Ron? We definitely have!
We asked @richardosman himself to write a quiz to help us determine the answer once & for all 👇 bit.ly/3GbWDAE
@SMCoulombeau Yes this✊100% we recently visited Bristol and we only found one place that was open at 8am for coffee (apparently the earliest in Bristol?!? I’m not sure I believed that but we genuinely were wondering the streets!)
It’s been a horrible few days. My family in the Catholic Church in Gaza city are reporting white phosphorous and gunfire into their compound. The bin collector and the janitor have been shot and their bodies are laying outside and remain uncollected. 1/2
So much to hate. So little time. But a special mention to the new thing of two identical bottles of stuff by basins with only the tiniest writing telling you which is the sodding soap.

Recently I was at a table with some other adults who were reminiscing about childhood. They mentioned they had a 64 pack of crayons with the sharpener in the back and asked me if I had that. I was honest and said no, we couldn't afford that. I think it got a little awkward 1/
If you are in need of something light and funny this evening, here's a wonderful song about life in the 90s. Most of the nostalgic references also apply to earlier decades too!

@BlondeHistorian companies tend to use a 123 skincare concept: I love a serum because I have dry skin so use less moisturizer. But basic is 1 clean 2 serum 3 moisturizer (spf - depending on am/pm)
In another life I worked as a skincare consultant! But love the body shop: ethical and good value
We hire teachers for their strengths, yet we fixate on managing their perceived weaknesses. Imagine the impact if we not only identified and celebrated strengths but also created a culture actively nurturing and amplifying them!
