@MichaelFKane Im starting to think these people enjoy Hiccup/Astrid DESPITE them being a hetero couple rather than because they are lovely hetero couple. They claim to love the ship but deep down they despise it for it's core values

Another one went viral. I'm not sure these folk can separate the actual story from the version they have written in their heads, which is ironic because this one cites media literacy. (Always a red flag). For instance take this supposed version of Astrid that is described here. Would she say this? "I was the first to believe you..." Or this? "I am the person I am today because of you." For them, the inversion of what they see as "trad" (a term i have come to dislike in almost all non ironic uses) is the chief appeal of Hiccup and Astrid and in the process they have simply written the story. Those characters in the tweet below? Don't exist. And what they miss is something lovely. They miss a story about two young people growing up, supporting each other, getting married, having a family, and passing on their legacy. The truth is right in front of them if they could only see past their own nose.

@MaritheKity The thing that really did it for me was the action scripted voice overs playing along side the dialogue audio like Mario just has to get in a couple "WAHOOS" inbetween sentences while talking to peach. Every second caused such a visceral reaction. Mostly anger. 10/10 tbh

@jiratickets Paper factory workers are literally losing their jobs because of lazy digital artists my dad literally lost his job at the metal pencil eraser divider factory where he makes metal dividers for pencils the erasures because no one buys pencils anymore.

Very sad to see actors, lighting technicians, set and costume designers, camera operators, and all kinds of production assistants losing jobs to this cheap hand drawn animation technology.
