Sometimes he's right. NATO is a joke without the US nuclear umbrella.
And BTW, that umbrella prevented the Soviets from invading Western Europe for decades.
So I can see Trump being annoyed that Europe won't help out with Hormuz.

@robustus Just a sort of insane tweet to endorse. Trump has shown himself as an incompetent leader who is leading the world to an economic catastrophe. And it is totally unclear what the US even stands to gain for starting this ruinous and costly war.

@very_bug_like @HayekAndKeynes to be fair, they need to plan for longer-range issues regardless of what happens next few weeks. ie, there can be a ceasefire which gets broken in the next few months, China/Taiwan brewing (unlikely this year but gets more likely each year, etc)

Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

it's completely possible to be a right winger and not spend an ounce of mental energy on charlie kirk conspiracies, inter podcaster turf wars, Israel/the Jews/Bibi or anything to do with nick fuentes or candace owens.

Most of us don’t personally know Joe Kent, and I certainly don’t. But we probably know a number of people, whether in real life or online, who have suddenly shown anti-Semitic or at least anti-Israel tendencies. So what do you do about it? Do you block them and cut all ties? Do you try to engage them? Those are deeply personal choices, and everyone handles it differently. My starting assumption is that most of these people aren’t inherently bad, in fact, most of them are good people. But something has gone wrong, probably a mix of social media contagion, cognitive dissonance, and other factors. I’m not saying that being anti-Israel is automatically wrong, but what’s concerning is how quickly so many people’s views have turned. We do have recent precedent in that Covid showed us how quickly 80 or 90 percent of people could lose their minds, including those I would never have expected to enthusiastically support stripping away civil liberties. So yes, I don’t know exactly why it’s happening, only that it is part of human nature. And that’s why I won’t simply cast aside everyone who experiences this kind of shift.
