You’re right, it’s not always about race. But it is about putting a person into a position based not on his merit, but on some other physical quality out of anyone’s control. These are characteristics he did not earn and which have no influence on his ability to do a job (or in the case of a disability may even reduce his ability).

Instead of focusing purely on talent and storytelling, the Academy under Rubin institutionalized identity preferences. Oscars prestige and viewership have tanked. Many see it as performative politics over art. Classics with non-diverse casts would be disqualified. He helped install the DEI machinery that turned awards into checkboxes and accelerated Hollywood’s quality decline.

Oh, I mean calorie reduction is the way to lose weight. But take two slices of bread. One is made with fresh-milled flour and the other is made from processed flour. Say they have the same amount of calories. The FMF calories take more calories to digest, has more fiber to fill you and you aren't going to get hungry again for a while. I just ate for my gut health, and my gut took care of the rest. I did keto for a bit, lost some weight, missed pasta and came back. Gained some of it back again. But the real success came when I eliminated super-processed foods and started milling my own flour and fermenting foods.

Ten years ago, I weighed 226. Today, I'm at 155.
