I agree. It’s also about light/shadow, framing, staging etc. But nothing in the trailer wowed me when it comes to all that. I can understand something being intentional but also come to the conclusion that: A) It’s unpleasant. B) That there may have been a better way to shoot something tonally/thematically appropriate but in a way that looks visually pleasing.

Everyone’s talking about the DIGGER trailer and Tom Cruise but I can’t help but notice that the whole film looks like it’s shot on log with Iñárritu hardly color correcting it. But apparently this is supposed to be a Best Cinematography Oscar contender.
