Gruelling conditions both heat & humidity…a sufferfest
Happy to be back here for the 4th time…wasn’t sure if I should race it as hadn’t trained much, was the last athlete to register a week ago as wanted to keep continuity of doing this event…thanks to my base fitness & a 1.5 month training plan by my coach @Kishlay_rai I made it. My wife @Rinchennargol always there to support my racing

I was in Poona last few days. The recent tragic accident involving a rich builders minor son drunk on money alcohol & speed that took two innocent lives was the hot topic of discussion.
1. The minor boy spends Rs. 48000 on alcohol & food in a pub.
2. Then in a drunken stupor drives a 2.5 crore Porsche at high speed killing 2 innocent people.
3. Is thrashed by bystanders on the spot before being picked up by the police.
4. Local politicians & bigwigs get into action. In the cop station is well taken care of, fed pizza. Delay in taking blood samples for alcohol levels.
5. A judge grants him immediate bail with ridiculous conditions as writing an essay, community service, no repeat of such an offence etc.
6. There is huge public uproar in the media & social media. The Juvenile justice board cancels bail the boy is back in a remand home till June the 5th.
5. Father arrested on charges of neglect & providing intoxicants.
6. Now a driver is produced who claims he was driving the car and not the drunk boy.
In the past many similar cases of rich drunk folks killing others on the road in many metropolitan cities including one wherein my friend @MihikaWahi of #Gurgaon is still fighting for justice with no end in sight. She lost her husband while the two drunk boys involved and their families are on with their lives.
The main culprit here is the corrupt system
Parents, Police, Lawyers, Administration, Politicians , Businessmen, the Govt departments all who twist the system for personal greed.
Unless the law treats this as murder and hangs the people responsible (in this case both the father who allowed it & the minor son who did it) and imprisonment of others involved we will continue to hear of such cases

Got my Procam Slam today at the @TCSWorld10K in #NammaBengaluru
The slam is a consecutive series running the @DelhiHM_ @TataSteel25k @TataMumMarathon & @TCSWorld10K
I had done all these runs earlier some more than 10 times but for some reason or the other couldn’t string all 4 in one go.
Not fast 52.49 but a nice happy run to round of the slam
Thanks @vivekprocam Kevin Pereira & the whole @procamintl team for good organisation & @BlrCityPolice for super traffic management…the weather gods unlikely for Bangalore were more than warm but an early start made it better. Thanks too @HemantSinghBen1 & @leapindia0 electrolytes and gels who have been constantly fuelling both my training & events.

Ran from Marathon to Athens the 40th edition of the Athens marathon it’s a tough race with around 25 kms of ascent starts at 9 in the morning with direct sun over most of the route the temp is in the low 20’s . I am happy with my performance considering low mileage in training and holidaying across Greece for the past 2 weeks. The race is the original route of the marathon in the first Olympic Games in 1896 and ends in the Panathenaic Olympic stadium a very emotional finish being cheered by thousands who gather to greet the runners. Legend has it that Pheidippides in 500 BC an Athenian ran from the town of Marathon to the city of Athens bringing in the news of victory in battle against the Persians and then collapsing from his Herculean effort and dying…fortunately we all who ran live. Being the original marathon it’s the holy grail for runners who came to run from across 140 countries and was on my bucket list for a while. For me it was a special race as I’m Persian (Zoroastrian Parsi) in descent and this loss in battle started the decline of the great Persian empire which was further routed 150 years later by another Greek Alexander the Great. In the battle if the Persians would have won today the Western democracies & civilisation as we know it could have been different…a single battle charted a course in history. This battle was an early example of a significant military tactic wherein a military force feigned retreat to lure and exposed a stronger force to defeat. The world has a lot to thank the Greeks for.

If you do an Ironman race in Goa you can do it anywhere in the world…I thoroughly enjoyed my race finished strong in very hot humid conditions with over 1000 meters of total elevation…raced all 3 editions here & this year with the new bike course was the toughest, many DNF’s…great job by @coachdeepakraj & team @IRONMAN703Goa from the expo to the finish line great execution #Ironman #Goa #triathlon #Swim #bike #run #fitnessaddict #Race #workoutmotivation
