I've done Hard Things on 5 continents. Built devices that sit in your hand and talk to satellites. Helped deliver babies. Comforted the dying. Butchered a sheep with obsidian. Starved in a desert. Sold portraits. Worn a uniform. Hitchhiked in the Middle East. Built robots. Solved a hundred year old puzzle created by a Civil War POW. Taught Russian Kung Fu. Illustrated a book cover. Helped a stranger. Broken into dead men's computers. Been interrogated. And a pile of other things I don't think I'll ever be able to talk about. For everything that I've done, I know 20 people who do them better. (except the puzzle) But I've still done them And I've noticed something interesting The people that tell me I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground (there are many) And the people who can actually OWN me in these endeavors Are never the same people

@JoshPhillipsPhD @kevinolearytv The purpose of a data center is to provide a reliable fat pipe of Internet for a company. It's quieter and easier than keeping them running at your own company HQ, and there's a ton of redundancy for power and cooling, because most businesses need 100% availability.

@kevinolearytv Can you please explain WHAT these data centers do? Or how they will make life better for regular people? We are building massive data centers and no one has explained the purpose in terms that people understand What will these things accomplish that we can’t accomplish now?

Who would want us to stop building our electrical grid? Who would wanna stop us from having compute capacity to develop AI? Which adversary would want that? There's only one. It's China. We noticed an immediate spike in misinformation on two platforms, Instagram and X, formerly Twitter. Why is this happening across America? Why every time we announce national defense in terms of giving us compute power do we get pounded by all of these IP addresses? So these are proxies for the Chinese government is my argument. They're just spreading falsehoods. This is the CCP at work here. There's no question about it.

@_Link_ Low 140s Marine here. Every special forces operator I've ever worked with (15-20) has been significantly above average intelligence.

This is why you can’t mass produce special operations. The percentage of guys with 130+ IQ who enjoy both books and bar fights is incredibly small.

@think___y Will have to check this out. Abstraction is an incredibly useful topic - forgetting extraneous details is so critical we don't even realize we do it constantly.

Question: have you ever read a book twice, like read it once, closed it, and went back to the start and read it again? I did it with this book. It’s super fun (albeit not super useful 😀).

@MikhailaFuller That is awesome that you have Wes Huff on Peterson Academy! "We have the best teachers" is a helluva claim, and Wes adds credibility to that claim.

I've wanted to have this kind of conversation for a long time. @WesleyLHuff is a New Testament historian who studies ancient manuscripts, and he is exactly the kind of thinker I wish I had found before I became a Christian. The logical part of my brain needed someone who could walk through the evidence without assuming you already believe it. What is the evidence for the resurrection? What was speaking in tongues? Which translation is the most accurate? And more!

@mattvanswol My first high school was like that. I thought it needlessly severe. Grad school for me had no + or - modifiers. 89.999 was a B. 90.000 was an A.

When I was in school, a "B+" was a 92 and an "A-" was a 93-95. What was considered an A when you were in school?

Took the triplets to a desolate beach for their birthday. Had them build rock people. Promised them we will go to Internet to choose who made the best rock person. Drop a comment: Kid A Kid B Kid C Winner gets to plan itinerary tomorrow.
