Some in Tamilnadu, claim cholas were never Hindus.. This copper plate zips their mouth @tskr

Know about the Leiden (Aanaimangalam) copperplates retrieved by India from Netherlands after many centuries: > The first copper plate to be discovered on Cholas > Excavated by Dutch East Indies Company (VOC) during the construction of Fort Vijf Sinnen around 1700 > Brought to the Netherlands in 1712 by a pastor, whose descendants donated it to Leiden University in 1862 > Deciphered in 1886 by Pandit Natesa Sastri and Burgess > Issued by GOAT king Rajaraja the first > 21 copper plates held together by a bronze ring with the regal seal > First 5 plates are in Sanskrit, rest 16 are in Tamil > Weighs 30kg, and are numbered from plates 2-21 > Mentions the lineage of Cholas starting from Vishnu till Surya, Ikshavaku and then Manu, the king who gave justice to a bereaved cow > Mentions about Devasura Manthan with Shiva becoming Neelakanta, and the Amrita being distributed to Devas by a Chola king >Records the historic grant given by Rajaraja to ruler of Sri Vijaya (Indonesia) for constructing a Chulamanivarma Vihara in Aanaimangalam of Nagapattinam district > Boundaries of the Vihara were determined by the ceremonial circumambulation of a female elephant >Sanskrit plates were written by Kottaiyur's Ananta Narayanan of Vashishta gotra > Documents in detail the 41 officials who executed the edict, the artisans who wrote out the words and the sculptors who rendered the inscription > Poetically states that only Veda Vyasa can truly capture the fully glory of Cholas, but the author is trying his best > States "As long as the crescent adorned Shiva resides on Kailasha and Vishnu does Yoga Nithirai on Paarkadal, and the earthly lamps Sun and Moon drive darkness away, may the Chola clan protect this Earth" > In the summer of 2023, the Indian government submitted a request to Leiden University to return the Chola Plates > The Leiden/Aanaimangalam Chola Plates will now go to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in New Delhi

Monte Carlo. Narrow streets. Relentless pressure. And now, an Indian victory written into its history. 🇮🇳🏁 @kmainiofficial has become the first Indian driver to win a Formula 2 Monaco Sprint Race — delivering a commanding lights-to-flag performance for DAMS Lucas Oil on one of motorsport’s most iconic circuits. As the Indian national anthem echoed across Monaco, it felt larger than a race win. It was a reminder that Indian motorsport is no longer standing at the gates of global racing — it is beginning to arrive on the podium. A historic moment. A proud tricolour moment. And perhaps the start of an even bigger journey ahead. 🇮🇳 #KushMaini #Formula2 #MonacoGP #IndianMotorsport #F2 #Monaco #Motorsport #India #PrideOfIndia #RoadToF1

What a proud moment for history enthusiasts in India! The Anaimangalam copper plates can henceforth be called in its original name. Fittingly, the Sanskrit invocation in the plates begins with this beautiful verse: यावत् कैलासशैले विहरति भगवान् इन्दुमौलिस्स्वदेव्या यावत् क्षीराम्बुराशौ हरिरहिशयने योगनिद्रान्तनोति। यावद्ध्वान्तान् नितान्तं व्यापनयति रविर्व्विश्वलोकैकदीपः तावत् पायादपायादयमखिलमहीमण्डलञ्चोळवंशः As long as the blessed moon-crested one (Lord Shiva) roams with his own consort on Mount Kailasha, as long as Hari (Lord Vishnu) remains in yogic sleep in the ocean of milk, as long as the sun, the one lamp of the world, completely dispels the darkness - until then, may this Chola dynasty never be destroyed from its very foundation.

A joyous moment for every Indian! Chola Copper Plates dating back to the 11th Century will be repatriated to India from the Netherlands. Took part in the ceremony for the same in the presence of Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The Chola Copper Plates are a set of 21 large plates and 3 small plates and largely contain texts in Tamil, one of the most beautiful languages of the world. They relate to the great Rajendra Chola I formalising an oral commitment made by his father, King Rajaraja I. They also showcase the greatness of the Cholas. We in India are immensely proud of the Cholas, their culture and their maritime prowess. I thank the Government of the Netherlands and Leiden University in particular, where the Copper Plates were kept since the mid-19th century. @MinPres

A historic moment when Raja Raja Chola era copper plates correctly known as “Anaimangalam Plates” (popularly known world over as Leiden Copper Plates held in Leiden University) are returned to Bharat by Netherlands Thanks mainly to our True Temple Activist - Advocate Shri Jagannath - who filed a Writ Petition in 2019 before the Hon’ble Madras High Court. Jagannath persistently followed up his Writ Petition. Subsequent to that @mygovindia took efforts through diplomatic channels to retrieve the extraordinarily important historical plates and finally they are being returned by Government of Netherlands. Many Thanks Advocate Jagannath! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you @narendramodi Ji. Netherlands returns Chola-era copper plates to India amid PM Modis visit - India Today indiatoday.in/world/story/ne…

I hosted @naralokesh in Toronto with our blue chip corporate CEOs . He gave out his personal cell number to a room of 30 CEOs and said if you are looking to invest and create jobs in India call me directly . He convinced me why I should move my factory to AP. That’s the level of hustle . @TVKVijayHQ needs to show that kind of hustle to compete . If you have ambition , rest will come easily .

Bengaluru: BSWML has launched 'DClutter' mobile app for doorstep collection of bulky waste such as old furniture, mattresses, cupboards, sanitary fittings & discarded clothes in Bengaluru. Such waste was often dumped on roadsides as it was not covered under regular collection. During a pilot drive, BSWML collected nearly 6,000 tonnes of bulky waste. Citizens can use the Android & iOS app to register, select items & schedule pickups for scientific recycling & disposal @BSWML_GBA

The best news for the day !! The historic Anaimangalam copper plates — popularly known as the Leiden copper plates, as they are preserved in Leiden University in the Netherlands — are being handed over to our Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji today. These copper plates are among the most important sources for understanding the later Chola period. They consist of two sets: the larger Leiden plates, comprising 21 copper plates, and the smaller set of 3 plates. They were deciphered in the 19th century, including by Pandit Natesa Sastri. The plates carry the royal Chola seal, with the seated tiger, lamps and other emblems. Most importantly, they record the grant of Anaimangalam village by Rajaraja Chola I for the Buddhist vihara at Nagapattinam. The inscription tells us that Sri Mara Vijayottungavarman, the ruler of Srivijaya, approached Rajaraja Chola for permission to build a Buddhist vihara. Rajaraja granted land in Anaimangalam village, roughly around 450 acres, along with tax exemptions for the vihara. While Rajaraja Chola gave the original order, it was his son Rajendra Chola I who ensured that the royal command was formally engraved on copper plates. These plates are not merely inscriptions. They are living evidence of Chola administration, land grants, maritime connections, Tamil–Southeast Asian relations, and the civilisational confidence of the Chola age. This is a historic moment for Tamil heritage and for Bharat’s cultural memory. Personally, it is also a deeply satisfying moment for me.

Today we remember Madurai Vaidyanatha Iyer on his birth anniversary — a remarkable freedom fighter, social reformer and a true Sanatani who dedicated his life to both the national movement and social upliftment. A staunch participant in the Indian freedom struggle, he took part in several protests against British rule and worked closely with national leaders of the time. But his most enduring contribution came through the historic Temple Entry Movement in Tamil Nadu. During the late 1930s, particularly in 1939, Vaidyanatha Iyer organised conferences and mobilised public opinion in Madurai for temple access to all sections of society. In one of the most significant moments in modern Tamil history, he led members of the oppressed communities into the Meenakshi Amman Temple, breaking long-standing social barriers. This courageous act became a turning point in the temple entry movement in the Madras Presidency. His efforts created the momentum for legislative reform. Taking inspiration from these developments, C. Rajagopalachari introduced measures that eventually gave legal sanction to temple entry rights in the Madras Presidency, paving the way for broader social reform. It is important to remember that leaders like Vaidyanatha Iyer saw temple entry not as an attack on Sanatana Dharma, but as a restoration of its core civilisational ideals — that dharma and devotion transcend social barriers. His life stands as an example of how social reform and spiritual conviction could go hand in hand. Madurai Vaidyanatha Iyer deserves to be remembered with gratitude for his stellar contribution to Tamil society, social justice and the larger freedom movement of Bharat.
