@thdxr people are making so many incorrect assumptions that anyone at Anthropic asked for this (this 100% was all me) that this is motivated by zig team’s no AI PR policy (nope) I’m just tired of dealing with crashes and memory leaks & want language features to help prevent things

@LukasHozda Not accurate. If you read the .zig and the .rs files side by side you’ll notice something - the original zig code and the new rust code looks basically the same, and that is intentional. It is a port.

@jarredsumner @LukasHozda I think ports are worse than the original by definition. I’m sorry Anthropic did this to your baby. Claude could just git gud at zig instead but clearly there’s a middle manager making calls. The Jarred I followed would have “ported” to latest zig instead.

The Saturn was a rarity growing up. I don’t think I knew someone with one until College! Very grateful there’s a sick discography to dig into someday. Dreamcast was one of my favorites for all the arcade ports and Saturn looks to have a bunch too!
