Carney stated it was a privilege to "work with Paul Martin when he balanced the books " for the Federal budget of 1998 but Carney didn't join the Canada's Department of Finance until 2004, six years later. He was a student at Oxford in 1998.
Holly Doan@hollyanndoan

No comment from @MarkJCarneyLiberal over claims he personally helped balance 1998 federal budget though he was a student at Oxford at the time. blacklocks.ca/questions-on-c… #cdnpoli @liberal_party

Indigenous-run university fell for the grave hoax and wrote about the “genocidal system” under an orange heart. The real hoax is that we owe “reconciliation” to Indigenous people after trillions have been spent to prevent their extinction.

Everyone’s told plastic pollution is a “global” problem… But the data say something very different. Roughly 90–95% of ocean plastic comes from a handful of rivers... mostly in Asia and Africa. The Yangtze. Ganges. Mekong. Nile. Niger. Not your grocery bag in Colorado. Not your straw in D.C. A small number of poorly managed waste systems are doing the overwhelming majority of the damage. The UN isn’t structuring this like a solvable engineering problem... it’s structuring it like a permanent global revenue stream. Because if you solve it quickly and directly… there’s no need for decades of committees, funding mechanisms, and “frameworks.”

Our oceans are becoming a trash heap, overwhelmed by plastic pollution. It’s time to break the habit of single-use plastics. #ActNow to #BeatPlasticPollution!

Some personal news. Lost my brother this week. The guy who looked after me when I was a kid. The one who coached my baseball teams. The one who loved his hometown, Farnham, with everything he had. The one who taught me how to play hockey. The one who inspired me to become a DJ. The one who got me my first board seat at the Farnham youth center. The one who bought me my first car. The one who helped me start a business when I was young… that guy. He’s gone. Jean—“Charlie” at home—passed away wednesday at 61. A father of three, a grandfather of two, taken far too quickly by an aggressive cancer that gave us only weeks. I broke down when I found out in early March. I was at the Toronto airport, waiting for a flight. I’ll never forget that moment. I knew time wasn’t on our side. We asked him what he wanted to do. He wanted to see the Blue Jays play Los Angeles Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani in Toronto. My twin brother Patrick pulled off something incredible—planned a trip in days. Early April. The Fairmont Royal York. Even some curling, dressed as bananas with the “Peel,” before the game. The Jays lost 14–2. Didn’t matter. We were together. And deep down, we all knew it would be the last time. Tonight, I’m thinking about my father, who just lost his first son. No parent should have to live that. I’m thinking about his daughters—Roxanne, Laurie, Rosalie—his granddaughters Élise and Alice, and Alex, the father. An entrepreneur for over four decades. Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce. President of the Farnham golf club. He loved Farnham—and Farnham loved him back. This is a brutal loss for our family. But that’s life. F*ck cancer. Rest easy, my big brother. Go join Mom—she’s been watching over us for nearly 17 years. Give her a hug for all of us. Salut, Charlie.

Apparently, it takes 2 cars, 2 drivers and 4 body guards for the Governor General to go get BBQ chicken. The grift and absolute entitlement is off the charts in this country. It infuriates me. Here I am re-using tea bags and these assholes are acting like Queens

China owns Canada’s ONLY antimony mine. And shut it down. Antimony is in every bullet, every missile, every night-vision system. No army on earth can fight a day without it. China bought the Beaver Brook mine in Newfoundland for $29.5 million. Shuttered it in 2023. One year later, Beijing banned antimony exports to the US military. Prices went from $5,900/tonne to nearly $60,000. This mine could produce 5% of global supply. Instead it sits idle under Chinese state control, an hour from a Canadian military base designated for F-35s. The US launched a $10 billion critical minerals reserve. Signed 11 bilateral deals. Canada signed zero. Carney calls China a “strategic partner.” China is using our own resources as a weapon against the West.

I always thought it would be 50/50 if Rocky made it through the night. I didn’t sleep much worrying about him. Luckily he was there waiting for me. All I wanted was one more day. We can work with this now. There is hope ❤️ (1/3)

A hard rescue today as I got a message from a kind local lady who needed help with an old blind dog. The poor boy was most likely dumped in the area because the “end was close for him”. He was confused on the beach and stuck. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer were it not for their bravery. His vet results were about as bad as it gets. His eyes might be glaucoma as he can’t see a thing and his kidneys and liver are bad as well as severe anemia. His anemia is so bad we can’t even put him on a drip. While I was driving him around I just had to keep talking to him as his head would keep dropping. His body is so weak. He is also very hard to handle as he lashes out with bites as he can’t see what is going on around him. He is terrified. The ladies called him Rocky as they are hoping he will make a comeback. It won’t be easy at all but he did start eating, drinking and resting well this evening. We will all have to keep everything crossed for this lovely boy. Whatever happens he isn’t on his own and he has the best medical care now. Rocky even let me pet his head tonight. I think he understands he is safe.
