The brutal murder of Abdul Aleem Farooqi while protecting his family has shaken us all. I had the privilege of knowing Abdul, having seen him just over a week ago at my BBQ. Aleem will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving father, devoted family man, and community leader.
Every family in Vaughan, King, and across the country deserves to feel safe in their own homes.
After a series of attacks and home invasions, we cannot afford to wait. We are calling on the federal government to immediately reinstate mandatory minimum prison sentences for violent crime.
We need to send a clear message of deterrence that if you commit a violent crime, you will face serious jail time.
Enough is enough.
Sign the petition and stand up for automatic jail time for serious crimes:

PFA Co-Chair MP Yvan Baker shared what inspired him to take on the role of PFA Co-Chair — a deep commitment to defending human rights, promoting religious freedom, and standing against the persecution of Ahmadi Muslims around the world.

As co-chair of the Parliamentary Friends Association of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada @PFA_Ahmadiyya, I was proud to take part in the 47th annual Jalsa Salana Ahmadiyya Muslim convention @Jalsa_Canada organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at @ahmadiyyacanada and to meet with National President Lal Khan Malik @lalkhanmalik.
It was wonderful to reconnect with friends and community members. Their motto, ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’ truly shines through in their inspiring works both in Canada and globally.
My congratulations to the organizers for fostering this unity-filled gathering!

23 members of U.S. Congress, led by @RepMcGovern, just sent a letter to @SecRubio expressing deep concern over the persecution of Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan at the hands of the extreme group Tehrik e Labaik Pakistan (TLP). The U.S. Government must act swiftly to redress this situation. 1/3

A violent mob in Karachi, Pakistan martyred an Ahmadi Muslim today, His Holiness announced in his Friday Sermon.
Mr. Laeeq Cheema, 46, was brutally attacked with bricks and sticks and died at the scene. He was the father of 7 children. Details are still emerging.
It happened during riots by religious extremists against Ahmadis who had gathered at the mosque for Friday prayers. Anti-Ahmadiyya slogans were chanted as the extremists surrounded the mosque.
His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad urged prayers for the Ahmadis there and reiterated that the community's response would only be through prayers alone.

This was my good friend from Pakistan.
We met recently in Canada when he came to visit.
I'm in shock and this is what the community faces everyday in Pakistan.
May Allah bring his punishment down on these so called Muslims who are no different than Zionists.
