An American man is rightfully bewildered by a small gathering of Iranian Monarchists celebrating the bombardment of Iran. "You want to kill your own people?? You're fucking sick!!" The monarchists call him a "piece of shit" and a "coward." (??) The American man's reaction is not only normal but honorable. It is not normal to want your own country to be bombed while you live in the safety of Maryland or Los Angeles, nor, for that matter, to celebrate and dance to images of school girls being blown to pieces by an American Tomahawk missile. It is sick and dishonorable. Nor should any American accept it as normal for vengeful and traumatized Diasporas to treat the US military as a mercenary army that they can deploy at their behest to settle personal scores. All Americans should share the anger and disgust this man exhibits.

@weatherenthu @TheSnowDreamer Yes. I remember it being 30°C and full blue sun around 3+ days in a row in July. Even June and August were decent especially in the second halves of those months and it never really turned that unsettled.

On this day 5 years ago… London Heathrow experienced its warmest March day on record (1948-) with a high temp of 23.8C (75F) this following an overnight low of 3C. It definitely was not a prelude to the summer.

Why does English not have a plural “you”? Well, it’s because “you” is already plural. The singular is “thou”. This was observed grammatically in Old English, when one person was þū and multiple people were ġē, but after the Norman invasion the plural became the polite form of address, and by the 1800s that became the nigh-universal standard. Nowadays, as a result, we have to reinvent the plural with contractions like “y’all”.
