Some Democrats on Capitol Hill are discussing how to get New York Sen. Chuck Schumer to step aside as Senate minority leader amid concerns about his negotiating style and midterms strategy on.wsj.com/47cP6zo

My hot take is that Zohran Mamdani really does not have much of a moral high ground compared to James Fishback. Especially given that Fishback is working to soften his image just like Zohran did. But one is a lefty so we will make all the excuses in the world for him.

I appreciate AOC being open about how her endorsement process works. Now I can understand why she may or not endorse a particular candidate.

@Zoomer_Doomer_ she had a chance in NC and even a bigger win-win chance in IL, this is just annoying to me it is some sort of virtue signaling because one of her staffers is probably on this side of twitter

@webobll @SpecialPuppy1 Ya you could be right. But then you run into the problem where Ds have to either win big enough to be able to pass reforms that survive the court (or retribution when Rs Win back power), or sustain winning long enough to be able to retake the court eventually (near impossible)

@webobll @SpecialPuppy1 In there much of a history of the public punishing the Supreme Court electorally? Like maybe abortion in 22 but that probably wasn’t that much and it only lasted one cycle. If anything, the public will punish Dems for not being able to pass anything (since SCOTUS will kill all)

@MichaelDavLange @SpecialPuppy1 a court that is ruling against public opinion will face backlash and maybe reforms. hard to predict the future in politics

@SpecialPuppy1 Imo the American right actually is an Alito and Thomas retirement and replacement away from one of the biggest opposition crushing moments since the Roosevelt era started Not a final victory, but a sustained one. (Unless court packing which I doubt really happens)

@lindsayballant @4CPcomics @HeerJeet I like Abdul too. but McMorrow isn't bad? and she ahs a better shot of winning than he does. also if a m4a vote ever came to the senate floor they would both vote for it

@4CPcomics @HeerJeet That’s exactly what I expected from her, which is why the Platner endorsement is wild. Calculated liberalism that stops the left. She claims to support M4A too, then why not support the candidate running on it

Might log into Bluesky for one (1) time this month just to see them lose their shit over Warren’s endorsement of Platner. The professional class wokescolds are her core base, this must be devastating for them

Agree that it's "fun to watch" but voters should be aware that she is a *massive* electoral under-performer, so while Warren "Warren likes Candidate X" is not definitive proof that Candidate X is a bad choice in a hard race, it is definitely evidence that Candidate X is bad.
Amanda Litman@amandalitman

Elizabeth Warren getting involved in Democratic Senate primaries (and going against Schumer/the DSCC picks) is fun to watch and I hope more of her colleagues do the same. It’s more proof the establishment has lost the juice.
