pilot, but Carol's stories as a superhero aren't about flying planes. Comic book relationships work best when there's room for give and take between the characters and these two don't have anything to offer each other.

The reason Carol and Rhodey as a ship sucked shit is because Rhodey does not serve a narrative purpose in Carol's stories which are more to do with space, cosmic or magic. If you see Rhodey's stories in Iron man, he serves as a secondary armor wearer when Tony is down, or has

@webprick @Earth936 @Big_Zam_Vlad @Drop_The_Colony You’re making my point for me 😭 You yourself said they can, at any moment, just decide to take over the world so what’s wrong with wanting some safeguards and precautions if anyone attempts it? Not all mutants are good, in the same way that not all mutants are bad

@Earth936 @webprick @Drop_The_Colony @Big_Zam_Vlad I don’t even have a hypothetical, I’m just saying that this issue isn’t as simply framed as you guys are presenting I ask again, what is your hypothetical ideal governmental response to the existence of mutants?

@Ser_Garrett @Earth936 @Big_Zam_Vlad @Drop_The_Colony This is false because logic dictates if they were seeking to become despots why would they wait until they're on the verge of genocide? They could and would take over the world already if domination was a desire and not a means of survival.

@Earth936 @webprick @Big_Zam_Vlad @Drop_The_Colony The same assumption you have that any attempt to monitor mutants WILL result in eventual genocide can be applied to mutants as well, that just leaving them alone WILL result in them becoming a threat Neither are fully realistic

@EjetPhil @Fenrirtheicewo1 Are you dumb? Privilege is a social construct. She literally has extra senses so it's not a black and white thing it's an abled/handicapped thing she was literally crippled same as someone going blind or deaf being mobility limited.

@webprick @Fenrirtheicewo1 You're missing the point. Let me try and make you understand Imagine a white person championing black and white unity. Freaky Friday happens, and the white person becomes a black person. First thing they do is to act like loosing their white privilege is the worst thing ever.

They have become the most boring group of assholes in the Marvel universe. Honestly, I think they'd get better if they just straight up became a supervillain group because at this point, that's what they are... villains. Seriously, every time they show up, it is like they just want an excuse to go on a murder spree.

@EjetPhil @Fenrirtheicewo1 So you think a white person that cares about the black plight thinks that the way black people are treated is acceptable? They're championing blacks. If I think it's not okay for you to be oppressed why would I be okay with being oppressed?

@webprick @Fenrirtheicewo1 Would anyone ever believe their championing of the black person was ever genuine? If you don't understand after that, I don't pay Elon money, so it'd be a waste to try and make you understand.

@Justwatching946 @Dre_4999 @Big_Zam_Vlad The point of the convo is the X-Men don't acknowledge the dangers mutants pose which is false it's just not relevant to address in the face of unjustifiable oppression.

@webprick @Dre_4999 @Big_Zam_Vlad This was never the point of the convo though so idek why you're bringing it up, this whole thing was about how the mutants suck as a racism allegory because unlike regular people (Black people, Muslisms, Asians etc) there's actual reasons to be afraid of them...

THE UCHIHA CLAN TAKING OVER THE VILLAGE IS WHAT YOU GOT FROM THAT STORY, NARUTO??? is that REALLY the FIRST thing that comes to mind??? not the generations of discrimination, not the government conspiracy, not the genocide, but what the VICTIMS were planning to do???

@Tharizdun03 You do know the 3rd hokage is older than ninja villages right? What was their oppression not having an uchiha president? They had to be forced into the alliance under threat of extermination and couldn't go 60 yrs without planning a massacre.

You cannot defend David spending an entire scene ignoring his city cuz he’s in a bad mood yet be angry that Henry took less than 5 seconds in slow motion to process his grief before saving more lives after Lex’s attack One needed to be told to help, the other didn’t

@vitor_motta10 I remember the Capitol trial: there was the explosion, and in the end, one of the defendants isolated himself from the world for a time, while the other sought to defend himself but chose to abide by the laws of the State.

@FonzyLopez1 @cyadra There's a significant difference between something that is a direct adaptation and is more inspired by that actually adapting. The fact that was a grounded historical , condensed version highlights this. Let alone all the other choices that mirror older Hollywood epic.

This is my biggest grievance with this film. The Odyssey is ancient myth. You don't inject the modern world into a direct adaptation. If you want a modern " more relatable " Odyssey just make a modern story inspired by it. The Coen brothers did and it was a masterpiece.

Christopher Nolan has explained why everyone in The Odyssey has an American accent “What I wanted to do with this film was really take a modern audience and throw them into a very relatable world"

@screentime But the purpose of movies is to get out of the ‘relatable world’. If I want a relatable world I will take the Tube instead of going to the cinema.

@NolanAnalyst He knows about the hospitality part of Xenia but has no comment or thoughts on the “being a gracious guest” part; the suitors failing that is why they’re killed at the end, thematically. Very important part of the story is that you have to “be someone worth being treated well.”

Christopher Nolan says The Odyssey is ultimately about the idea that a society can only function through respect for strangers. He believes that, despite 3,000 years passing since Homer, that fundamental truth about human nature hasn’t changed.
