@coreyward @austinenergy Didn't say it doesn't take time. It is not complex, though. It is the most common type of line failure there is. AE is being misleading when they say "everything left is complex." That is a flat-out lie.

@webzeppelin @austinenergy Cool, so you traced the line all the way back to the AE facility and verified the connection health at each stage? Above and beyond, but maybe you should have fixed it too since you seem to know everything.

In Austin, people resorting to taking food from a grocery store dumpster during a power outage. This is society under capitalism.

@KirkPWatson You said you want to improve transparency. Since @austinenergy won't provide even ballpark estimates for restoration, they should provide daily data dumps so we can generate our own estimates based on their data.

@austinenergy Once again, this is misleading. Many of us still without power understand the cause of their specific outage, and these are not complex problems. Stop saying that the remaining outages are complex!

⚡ Currently there are about 1,700 outages affecting 68,000 customers. While weather conditions have improved and tree limbs breaking has decreased, the existing outages are more complex, which make restorations take more time.

@austinenergy Stop spinning this and only talking about how many customers were restored. You should also talk about how many are still without power. We need estimates for restoration times, not "look how good we are doing" propaganda.

(9 a.m.) Utility crews made significant progress overnight, working to restore power to affected customers. Since 5 p.m. Friday, we have restored power to nearly 51,000 more customers, for a total of 256,307 customers restored since the beginning of this historic weather event.

@austinenergy This is misleading. To say that the remaining fixes are "complex" is not true and confusing to the thousands without power, like me, waiting for repair crews to fix broken poles and downed lines.

If your power is still out, please be patient. We know you are frustrated. We are too. Remaining outages are complex, but there are close to 400 crew members from Austin Energy and neighboring utilities working to get customers back online. (2/2)
