Players peak at 20 not because of something inherent to esports, it’s because of the pay scale. Players make millions in their 20s in sports. Esports players eventually lose their justification for grinding over time for current pay. They get significant others, their priorities change and move on when they decide its not worth it. The players that great money trend older just like sports. There are many pro esports players over 30 still at the top level. It’s def more grey than sports but that’s bc of lack of structure and an immature business model/pay scale. As the model is solved and players can sustain high pay the same way they can in sports the avg age of a pro will increase. It can eventually line up with sports maybe peaking out in early 30s, which gives plenty of room for collegiate to be P2P At least thats my 2 cents

I haven’t heard about any LCS/Americas format information, but I will say it now: The success of FlyQuest and the @LCSOfficial teams was in a large part from LCS moving to Best of 3’s - So if I hear of any returns to Bo1’s for next year I will consider that a clear step back.

Still hasn’t sunk in that we just made worlds. I couldn’t be more proud of the guys, it feels like all of our hard work has paid off. I can’t believe that in my first year coaching in the LCS with a young squad we made worlds, it all feels too perfect.

Overall the biggest problem with Esports is that your self worth is tied so closely to the work you do that you never really get to take a break from the pressure once you ramp up If I worked McDonalds or some random tech company I wouldn't come home after a day where I messed up someone's order and care about it but in Esports even a small mistake will haunt you until the end of your career, because everyone is waiting for u to fail The only way to decompress is with a proper amount of rest, and if you don't get that rest, it will permanently affect you. I don't think I'll ever recover from the mental stress I endured over the past 3 yrs in this industry and I think a lot of my peers might be in the same place even if they don't want to say it
