After learning more about PROTOTYPE gear arriving in Year 8 Season 1, what changes would make it feel more rewarding or worth the grind? Would improvements like upgrading gear with ProtoCore materials, higher drop rates, or targeted farming in escalation make a difference? #thedivision2

I get a feeling this Marvel stretch we’re about to start today — Daredevil Born Again S2 into Punisher into Spider-Man: Brand New Day into Avengers Doomsday — might be the best stretch of MCU we’ve seen in a minute. Maybe since 2016-2017, Civil War through Ragnarok?

My favorite part is when Frank tries to relate to Matt with the whole “I can hear my little boy” bit, and at first it’s really humanizing and sympathetic And then he ruins it when he says “Get em, daddy, get em. Every last one of em” because he’s a psychopath

@Ry5775533 So if you want to try again you need to upgrade a new piece to 30 with perfect roll stats for a 1/300 (yes these are the rates) chance to get all 3 stats at the cap.

@Ry5775533 You didn’t read what I just said lmfao. Only 1 of your 2-3 rolled stats will get the proto boost guaranteed. After you upgrade you can’t reroll the stats or optimize to the new proto 1.5x cap. I never mentioned augments.

@Ry5775533 Missed the point dummy. You need expertise 30 and gear at 30 with perfect rolls and even after you upgrade it only 1 stat is guaranteed to be proto level. So you can brick a weapon/gear piece you invested 90 exotic components into.

@kelskiYT It's basically a single player MMO in the style of Korean Zelda TOTK so the first couple hours of the MSQ are rather bland introductory missions.

@MacticsG1 I hate to be that guy but if this was D2 in its prime this would have taken half a year to acknowledge and another half a year to do a half ass fix that may or may not be worse than the original problem.

So let me get this straight… Prototype gear has 2 ways to obtain it: you either farm it in Escalation with really low drop rates, or you upgrade your existing gear. But upgrading requires Expertise lvl 30, and even then you still need Prototype cores… which only come from breaking down Prototype gear. So either way, it all circles back to farming Escalation for Prototype drops… is that actually how this is meant to work, or am I missing something? #thedivision2

Can someone explain to me what Bungie did wrong to the D2 community? All I’ve seen is them slowly ramping down the game since FS and giving attention to a different IP. I have 10K hours across the Destiny franchise and I don’t feel betrayed. Make it make sense.

@MattGoesBuck You missed the worst part chief. Even if you wanted to “farm” this gear there is no way to target it properly. Your best shot is the expertise 30 upgrade which means this “farm” is just another mat farm rather than gear farm. Oh and you can’t optimize the new max stats too.

I was super excited for Division 2's new prototype gear until I realized this is legit Division's version of Destiny's tiered armor system. Spending 100s of hours to get shiny new gear, while having to spam one single activity to get it, and once you do, there's nowhere in the game that requires this gear because you're already overpowered. Wild to see Division doing this, seeing as everyone just watched it murder Destiny's player count. Division had a chance to swoop up a ton of lost looter shooter mains, instead they're doing the same dangled carrot trick as Destiny did. #TheDivision2

@divisiongameHQ There we be no “farming” gear but just another mat farm where you get proto gear and just break it down for components. We need minimum targeted look, keep the drop rate low still that’s fine. Optimization and maybe recal and just make it expensive.

@divisiongameHQ Good idea but terrible execution and half-baked out of the gate. No targeted loot in escalation means the only way to get proto gear that matters is upgrading which is terrible. No optimization at all means those bonus stats are worthless as it is down to RNG to get 3/3 max.

@Byrdman Cmon dude past 2 years as a D2 fan has been rather bleak and pathetic from Bungie to the point of it being insulting. Even rn it’ll be waiting 189 days just for a fuckin midseason update. Acting like it’s all sunshine and rainbows is an odd choice.

🚨I think a lot of the Division 2 player base has mixed feelings about PROTOTYPE, but it’s important to keep the bigger picture in mind. A healthy community needs content for all types of players, and right now veteran players don’t really have anything meaningful to chase. ⭕️PROTOTYPE ⭕️helps fill that gap by offering both progression goals and the added challenge of escalation tier 6+. If we want Division 2 to succeed overall, the game needs to support everyone, casual PvE players, PvP-focused players, veterans looking for real difficulty, and speedrunners who thrive on raids and incursions. PROTOTYPE should be something RARE and something we chase to slowly add to improve our current builds. #thedivision2
